Leftover Truce

This afternoon, the following G-chat conversation ensued:

Salmon III

We had salmon with brown rice, beans, seitan and a fat slice of lasagna in the fridge. I couldn’t believe that Matt wanted the thing I wanted the least! No rock, paper, scissors necessary!

IMG_8816-2Blog

He came home tired (from staying up too late last night watching LOST!) and we were both thankful for an easy dinner night.

IMG_8813-3Blog

I surrounded the lasagna with kale and microwaved it all for 4 minutes on power level 6 (in case you want to replicate this “recipe” ) Then I topped it with some more smoked gouda and nuked for 30 seconds more. The kale was drizzled in EVOO and lemon juice plus a sprinkle of salt.

IMG_8810-3Blog

Served with lemony water!

IMG_8817-3Blog

Dessert was the last one of these… plus a glass of milk to wash it down because I was feeling pretty hungry!

Nite!

I’d like me some Lasagna! I looove Lasagna… the last time I had some was probablllyyyy… Over a year ago? Its rare when we get to eat some. My mother only makes them for special dinners or on my demand when she decides to invite people over lol. I might try and make a small one loaded with veggies!

Kale is next on my to-try list. You seem to cook with it so often, and it always looks delicious! Unfortunately, it’s hard to find in Wisconsin until Farmer’s Market season.

My boss went on vacation last week to visit his parents, who live minutes outside of Charlottesville, and I made him promise me he would go to GH. He came back today and brought dog treats and bread in tow. I was very thankful. Whole grain goodness – delicious. He also said he had a sandwhich while he was there, which was delicious and changed his view on veggies and bread. He will now eat cucs on all sandwichs!

    Hi Kath!
The word ensued means that something followed as a result of something else. For example: I smashed the pie in his face. Hilarity ensued. Your first sentence should read: The following conversation took place. Or perhaps occurred.

I guess the problem is that I didn’t finish the sentence: “This afternoon, the following G-chat conversation ensued after Matt and I started talking about dinner”

Anyway, was going to mention benzoyl peroxide is still on the “safe” list & is a cheaper acne option!
