You are here: Home / Weekend / Baby Power Hour!

Baby Power Hour!

After a Body Pump power hour and a shower hour, I met my friends Alice and Holly for lunch at the bakery followed by a trip to Babies R Us. Knowledge was shared!

Matt and I had so much fun playing with Finn and Elinor!

[My favorite one … 🙂 ]

Other than high school babysitting, I don’t have too much baby experience, so I’m so thankful that I’ve made friends with babies and joined the mother’s group and things. Getting to hold them and hear all the great mom advice is priceless!

Turning into a mom is hard – my appetite is up today!

I snacked on this dried fruit bar in between the gym and lunch. [OpenSky sent it to me.]

IMG_8804-3Blog

For lunch I had [steamed] ham and smoked gouda on High Five – with lots of veg!

Followed by a dessert tasting that Matt brought over – we shared a Sav bar and cookie between the three of us.

Babies R Us was fun this time. (My first visit was way too overwhelming!) A+H had some great suggestions on everything from nursing pads to pack n plays. I bought some baby hangers!

I swung by Whole Foods on my way home for weekly groceries and was so hungry (despite the huge sandwich!) I had to break into this in the store:

And when I got home, I downed a mug of cereal!

Catching up on things for the rest of the afternoon. And I think we’re having leftovers for dinner. That’s good for the fridge, bad for bored palates.

All of the advice, tips and knowledge is good, but whatever you do and decide will be the right thing. Things will come naturally because something might be right for one person, but maybe not for you…just enjoy every moment because they grow up before you know it.

I always love how tanned you look! I think high school babysitting is still relevant for parenting haha…at least that’s what I’ll convince myself of haha. My high school babysitting was pretty legit though. I used to babysit for my neighbour when their daughter was a few weeks old, so I really got a feel for what it’s like to be with a newborn! You’ll be great 😉

Isn’t the appetite thing crazy! Mine doesn’t really go with my growth spurts though- My appetite plays catch up with my growth spurts, which I find confusing; while I’m growing I don’t have a crazy appetite. Weird. …….Loving the baby time, crazy how fast it’s going to hit in August/September!!!

That cereal was a staple in my household for breakfast for a while there…. now I’m so tired of it, I can’t look at it! I ate it during the day, too. Weird thing, just got a wild hair and HAD to eat that cereal for almost every meal of the day. Yes, I got sick. I pulled that same string several more times before I finally got over my obsession with that cereal. /: Now, I have a Flax Bran organic cereal I mix with Cascadian Farm Cinnamon Crunch organic cereal and BOY, that’s just enough of heaven in a bowl!
You should try it sometime! Thanks for getting me hooked on Odwalla products now. I was a little scared to try something new, but you’ve been incorporating Odwalla stuff in your blogs a little more lately it seems, so I couldn’t handle not knowing what’s so glorious about this Odwalla thing… so delicious and filling!
