Left Over Yonder

IMG_7884-2Blog

Things were pretty laid back today at the bakery. Except for my appetite for sweets! That was on fiyah! So good, y’all, so good!!

Matt was very busy today:

Crossing my fingers for Imperial Pumpkin in 10 days! {Maybe a little longer…}

IMG_7879-2Blog

I came home at 7 after closing down to find that dinner had yet to be started. But that was just fine because we had a nice selection of leftovers in the fridge.

IMG_7887-2Blog

Radicchio + Wheatberry Salad reheated with BBQ chicken and bleu cheese.

IMG_7880-2Blog

Also served with dinner was a slice of Italian bread, toasted.

Sparkling water back in my life in bottle form. Waiting on a keg to be prepared!

Tonight, we WILL watch The Office! Maybe Glee too!

    Out of all the meat I have missed after becoming vegetarian, BBQ chicken has to be one of the top. Yum!

      I bet a well-pressed firm tofu with BBQ sauce would help replace that flavor/texture you’re missing. I know it works well when I do Tofu Nuggets. 🙂

    I’ve got the first two episodes of this new season of Glee on the DVR… and haven’t been able to watch them yet. I hope they’ve kicked things up a bit from last season (which was a bit lackluster imo). The Office is great, as usual. Enjoy! 🙂

    Matt’s got quite the distillery going there! Pretty soon he’s going to need a liquor license to serve all that good stuff. Kidding 🙂 I would love to watch the process b/c I find fermenting and bacteria and yeast really interesting. (geek alert but yes I love it)

      It’s going to be a high alcohol (somewhere around 8-9.5%) imperial pumpkin beer – caramelly sweet, thick body, and made with cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves!

    Did Matt construct the metal structure himself? Becuase that looks better than using the kitchen burner for brewing like my little brewer does.

      Yep, I bought some angle iron and used a hacksaw to cut it to the lengths I needed, then bolted it all together. It’s nice to be able to make a mess outside and not take over the kitchen. It probably cost about $150-200 to build.
