KISS

Kissing My Banana

How many days has it been? 3? My oatmeal was SO much better today thanks to this little guy

Today’s mix was:

  • 1/3 cup oats
  • 1/3 cup milk/hemp milk
  • 1/3 cup water
  • Half banana
  • Vanilla
  • 1/4 cup granola
  • 2 tsp-ish chopped walnuts
  • Spoonful PB

I am free of coffee symptoms as of yesterday! I realized last night that I never got the shoulder headache. Yay!! You know what else I have been free of since Thursday? Splenda . I’m very happy about that too.

I walked to the lightrail this morning and have a few things to do around the house. Lab to study for tomorrow’s lab and some other stuff to get ready for my all-day classes, that start MONDAY!! I might go running in a bit too 🙂

WordPress is still messed up, but the temporary fix seems to be working fine. If only this window would stop freezing on me I could insert the photos the right way!

OMGosh, I know I am *so* upset when we don’t have bananas in the house, too. But now that I have my husband putting them in his protien shakes I can convince him to go on a grocery run for them too. YAY for bananas and oatmeal!

i live in nyc and there are a TON of places. for fancy restaurants, can’t beat pure food and wine, but it’s pricey. less expensive, but still good and healthy, places to try – angelika kitchen, josie’s…there are a ton. as for shopping, there’s a whole foods and a trader joe’s in union square and a bunch of smaller natural foods stores and organic markets in different neighborhoods – if you need more suggestions, let me know!

Glad you got your bananas back! I need bananas and oatmeal — you would not survive in my house right now!

Ha ha, glad I got it out in the open. Going with Kiala’s post, in summary:

Kath your banana looks like a penis. You titled your post kissing my banana. Some of us (okay alot of us) thought very bad things. Perhaps you should have titled it, ” I finally went to the store and got some bananas because i was out”. 🙂

It’s amazing how our favorite foods make us feel 🙂

Yesterday I had a dribble of soy milk left and I got panicky thinking I could run out and have NONE in the house! I had to run out and find it (only two stores in my area carry it).

Kath, I don’t know anything about worldpress and I didn’t read the other suggestions, but the one fix that comes to mind is to try internet explorer instead of firefox. I had a window freezing problem the other day on a website I use that’s been recently updated, and switching to internet explorer did the trick. I hope that helps! Sorry if you already tried this and it’s a stupid suggestion 🙂

    Claire –

So many options!! Gobo is always a winner. I am a big fan of Josie’s, especially for brunch with the girls (they have great organic-fruit-infused cocktails.) For ordering in, Pump (several locations) is as healthy as you can get (but the food is good!) Lots of “build your own salad” places, like Chop’t and Tossed. Dojo, in the Village, has healthy, cheap eats if you need a quick bite. Kate’s Joint, in the East Village, does vegetarian ‘diner’ food. I personally do NOT recommend Zen Palate – I’ve eaten there several times and find the food subpar. If you are on the UWS, do your shopping at FAIRWAY! If not, let me know what neighborhood you’ll be in (I have lived ALL over the city), and I could probably tell you the closest health-food stores/eateries.

Hahahha. You guys are nuts. That NEVER crossed my mine. I’m siding with the Loch Ness monster giving a kiss!!

    Haya,
Nothing’s wrong with splenda, but it is an artificial substance. Like coffee, I’d rather work on having it every now and then than everyday and coffee was the only thing I put it in.

    eliza,
Thanks for the rec. I’ll look for it!

    Elina ,
Excellent suggestion, but I’ve already tried it 🙁 And tried it in Safari. And on my other computer. And the husband’s browser at work. And without tabs. And updated Flash. And updated Java. I’m clueless other than re-installing WordPress, which would mean I’d risk not having the proper backups for the blog and losing posts and more. I need help 🙁

Congrats on being Splenda and coffee free! I’ve been trying to cut out caffeine and artificial sweeteners since I read Skinny Bitch – so far I can cut out caffeine pretty easily, but every once in a while I have a diet soda =/ (caffeine free, of course 😛 )

I’ve never been fond of the taste of Stevia. It just doesn’t sit right. It doesn’t have the round taste of splenda.

HEY! i just found your blog but im soooo gald I did!!!
Congrats on giving up coffee and SPLENDA!!! I gave them up about 3 months ago and i have honestly never felt better.

Splenda is probably one of the worst things we can put into our bodies…although its calorie free it actually tricks our bodies into thinking that we NEED MORE SUGAR!!! SO CONGRATS!!!!
