Just Throw It All In

Morning 🙂

Wish I could play all day today, but as it turns out, I’ve got a number of things that have to be done for my internship so I’ll be at the computer most of the day.

this !
We’ve got a dreary rainy day so I think some hot tea will keep me company.

I was really hungry this morning for a big bowl of oats!!

IMG_4952 (640x427)

I ended up making a HUUUUGE bowl because I just kept throwing it all in!!

IMG_4948 (640x427)

The Mix

  • 1/4 cup Scottish oats (= 1 serving because of smaller grain size), water, vanilla soy milk, pinch salt, vanilla
  • 1 small banana (started to put in half then just tossed it all in)
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 a cup of cottage cheese (again, started with about 1/4 a cup and only had a little left so I just scraped it all in and it ended up being a little to much!!)
  • Crumbled granola bar "cookie" from last night 🙂
  • TJ’s PB, sunk in

= one amazing but super filling bowl!

IMG_4946 (640x427)

Christmas Blend + Pumpkin Spice Decaf

IMG_4936 (640x427)

IMG_4940 (640x427)

I think I lost a tooth!!

IMG_4943 (640x427)

Wheeeeeeeeeee!

Ooo – I just had Scottish oats for the very first time this weekend. I love how chewy they are – so unique and different than old fashioned oats! Unfortunately I bought enough OF oats to last me 10 years at Costco, so I won’t be buying the Scott’s style anytime soon!!

Looks delicious, it made me hungry at least.
Just curious, what kind of cottage cheese do you use? (Low-fat, non-fat, normal, large/small curd, creamy or dry, brand?) Every time my parents bought cottage cheese I chose not to eat it due to the obnoxiously long ingredients list and I was wondering if there was a decent style to eat w/o all of the junk in it. I’ve never tried cottage cheese with my oats but I figured if I can find some good cottage cheese, why not. (Sorry if you’ve posted it before.) ^_^

Lately I’ve been buying Organic Valley 4% CC. I also like Cabot fat free (the ONLY fat free dairy product I’ve ever liked!) And I do like Breakstones too. Cottage cheese varies so much brand to brand. But the Organic Valley is awesome – and organic 🙂

    Hi Kath,
I’ve been reading your website for about 3 weeks now. It’s fun and inspiring! I love the oatmeal with the banana-I’ve made it many times and it’s so tasty!

I’ve asked this question many times, but I bet you have the perfect answer. How do you use a French Press? Exactly how much water to how much coffee? I can’t seem to make it taste right. I like my coffee fairly strong, then I add some frothed 1% milk and some stevia.

Thanks in advance and I hope you get lots done today!

I stirred it in near the end – and the oats are usually so hot it doesn’t cool it down much at all. Takes about a minute to get hot again.
