It’s A Growler

Woo hoo!

The exam was HARD. I think we were all blown outta the water a bit. It was not consistent with our other tests or material. Yet, I still think I did fairly well. Fairly being the key word 🙂

I got a big coffee from Panera at 8:30 and then snacked on a few dried peaches before the test at 11:30. I was hungry for a snack, but I knew I could just take it and be home for lunch in an hour or so.

An hour turned into two, but I survived with just a very loud growling stomach 🙂 ROAR!

This lunch sure hit the spot!

Hummus, spinach, mustard, pickles(!!!) and hot sauce on Whole Grain Goodness. I just re-stocked our pickle stash that had been missing for months. LOVE pickle crunch on sandwiches!

I ate lunch with the TV in view and a show called "My Fair Wedding." I used to watch wedding shows ALL the time before my own. I haven’t watched in over 2.5 years! It was fun 🙂

Afternoon plans:

  • Clear my mind
  • Read
  • TV?
  • Veg
  • Answer a million emails
  • Think of something to make for dinner (Thanks for the help on Twitter guys!)

I’ll get back to business tomorrow. I need a detox from Metabolism!

I just turned in a statistic paper! I sort of can’t believe I actually wrote an empirical paper but my plans are pretty similar to yours for the afternoon. The only difference is I plan on going to see New Moon once again because as a grad student you have to question your maturity with cheesy films from time to time.

Amen to detoxing from a tough final.. I just took my hardest final of the semester (accounting.. it was the death of me) and I’m definitely taking the night to celebrate! And by celebrate I absolutely mean relaxing and doing NOTHING but curling up in my bed in sweatpants with plenty of trashy tv.

I am loving all of your recipes. Thanks for always taking the time to post them. Your blog is so inspiring for me and I am continuously revamping my diet with healthier options.

I know that you don’t normally eat meat (as do I), but I struggle with trying to get enough protein. So, I was wondering, is that why you usually put hummus on your sandwiches instead of a meat protein? I know the Chobani is loaded with protein. Do you try to usually supplement with something like that?

      Trena,
We don’t buy much deli meat simply because it’s expensive and goes bad fast. Yogurt lasts for months on the other hand! Between the bread, hummus and yogurt in this lunch, there is more than enough protein. You really don’t need as much as you would think! And there’s probably more in your means than you’d think too. The scrambled egg sandwich from yesterday is a good deli meat alternative. So are mashed beans and tempeh/tofu on sandwiches (just put them on raw!)

Just remember, it’s always how you did *relative* to everyone else in the class. Marks are always bell-curved (at least, that’s how things were when I was in school). Good luck!
