Icicle Time

We have some killer icicles here this morning! Our snow is melting – I think I missed out on my last chance to sled. Until Saturday perhaps – more is in the forecast!

I tried a new Jalapeno + Mango Siggi’s for breakfast. Not a fan : ( It was just too much Mexican flavor for breakfast for me. If you’re one of those who likes salsa on your eggs, you’ll love it. Served aside a leftover pancake with the last of my walnut butter and half a banana. (I am so tempted to write “nana” because that’s what Mazen calls them but I realize that would be incredibly annoying!)

We dug ourselves out of the snow to head to the gym this morning, which was packed with people just like a normal day. Mazen goes to a little kids yoga class on Wednesdays at the gym, and I spied on him doing warrior 1 with his friends. THE CUTENESS!

I ran 2.5 miles on the treadmill and then fatigued myself in strength class by using the 30 pound kettlebell for the first time. Yikes!

I had some pitas leftover from last night’s dinner and turned one into a pizza for lunch!

I toasted it in the oven so the “crust” would be crispy and then added a layer of Cava Hummus. Next up some leftover chicken, cucumber slices, mixed greens and then finally a drizzle of Oliviers & Co chili oil, which is SO good as a finishing oil on everything!

After lunch Mazen and I made a batch of my homemade oatmeal baked snack bars. This time with chocolate chips and raisins. We each had one as an early afternoon snack.

Stay warm!

Were you too tired to move for the rest if the day after that kettebell session? Good in you for upping the weights.

I recently made a batch of walnut butter and I am seriously in love! AND I love the fact that it doesn’t take nearly as long as almond butter 🙂

Making a pizza with pita is such a great idea for lunch! This is a great alternative to regular pizza, which is getting my wheels turning; pizza is my sons favorite food, so any way to make it healthier is a good thing!

Since you’re an RD, would love to know your stance on the La Croix sparkling waters. Are they just as good as drinking water, or does the sparkling content somehow change its nutritional value? I’ve been wondering about this lately, and figured you of all people would know!

I do like salsa on my eggs, but I don’t think I would even try jalapeno yogurt! That’s just strange to me!!! At least you were game to try it. Everything else looks & sounds yummy, though 🙂
