Homegoods

IMG_6890-2Blog

Back from BB&B and Lowes. I didn’t get as much as I had hoped! I’m so indecisive. I want to put up tons of shelves but I just don’t know where to start! I ended up emptying my cart back out at checkout and putting lots of things back that I decided I didn’t need like shower caddies! Good things I got were eco shower curtains, light bulbs for our weird new lights, a stand-alone toilet paper holder and LOTS of Magic Erasers!!

I need to remember that houses take time to decorate.

I came home for a quick lunch – literally 10 minutes – and am headed to meet Larbs + Matt now!

Eggplant pizza burger! Cold. Leftover. But pretty good!

I know that feeling when you move in somewhere – its like having a big empty blank canvas! But you’re right – once you’ve moved in and lived there it will become clear what you do and don’t need and where! I’m super excited to see how the new house looks once you’ve worked the Kath magic on it!

Bed Bath and Beyond is such a dangerous store. I always have to go in there with a plan or who knows what will end up in the cart? I was the same way when I bought my house. I wanted everything to be decorated immediately. I had to take a step back and slow down and get things I really liked little by little.

Your meals look so simple. I’m opposite and tend to combine a million things. Eggs on buttered toast with a side of yogurt containers, fruits, veggies, dessert(s). Combination confusion perhaps.

On another note, I’ve re-fallen in love with bread after viewing your blog for a while. I have to have it at every meal with anything on it. Bread and tons of “unhealthy” foods are suddenly my addiction. Go figure!

I combine a lot too. Chicken, bread, fats, hummus, dessert, yogurt in all one meal. Keeps it interesting I suppose!

Love the combo. I try not to buy silly things like shower caddies too. I bring them home, and they are just another accessory taking up space. Would like to see the eco-shower curtains though, that sounds very natural

Oh how I know that feeling of wanting to decorate every room at once and make everything perfect from the beginning 🙂 But you’re right, it does take time and I believe that everything will look and function better if you’ve had some time to “test the house” and the way you use the rooms, before making too many definite decisions on how to decorate.

Hope you have a fantastic evening 🙂

Have you tried the kitchen and bathroom magic erasers yet?? HOLY CLEANING POWER, Batman! They are amazing, AH-MAAAAZZING! I just cleaned my grout with a single swipe and cleaned off window grease spots that have been my nemesis for four years with one quick wipe. I’m not normally a product shiller, but you seem to love a good clean house and let me tell you, those things are life changing. I deep cleaned my kitchen and bathroom in less than 30 minutes! Weeeeeee!

Houses do take time to decorate. Sometimes I feel like we want to decorate immediately for everyone else who might come visit a new house when you really need to decorate as you settle into the house. I guess we have been “settling” for almost 7 years! We have lived in ours for almost 7 years and are still remodeling and decorating. I can totally relate to being indecisive and emptying the cart and putting things back.

How do you reconcile buying Magic Erasers with using Shaklee, which is a much healthier product? Magic Erasers contain formaldehyde and aren’t eco- or human-friendly in any way. And I thought you really liked Shaklee’s line and found it to be effective. So why the Magic Erasers? I’m confused, I admit.

I would be so stumped trying to decorate and buy for a whole house, let alone an apartment (hopefully) in the next year or so. I think I would have to do a lot of online research and mapping it out beforehand. Have fun at the event tonight!!!

Decorating a house does take time. I still do not have our house completely decorated like I would like–partially because I am indecisive as well. After eight years residing in our house, though, I have slowly but surely incorporated things.

I wish that I’d waited a bit to finish furnishing our home. We had a lot of things (combining 2 full apartments will do that!) but we ended up finding everything that we were looking for for the rest of the rooms at 1 store (a local consignment store that had a bunch of New items that designers had bought but didn’t need)… Although I love it all, I do still look and wish that I could justify a different sofa (or dining room, or office, etc.) Take your time and have fun with it! Fall in love with each piece!

Sparkling is the best kind of water to drink, in my opinion 🙂

If it makes you feel any better, we’ve been living at my condo for a YEAR and we literally just filled and put up the picture frame with wedding pictures on our wall. I think since this place doesn’t really feel like home, and we don’t really like it, we’ve been resisting putting in the homey touches.
