Ho Ho Halloween

IMG_9246Blog

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!?

IMG_9249Blog

Delicious warm cinnamon raisin oats on a chilly morning.

IMG_9247Blog

I took home a bag of our Great Harvest mix last night. It’s Oats, raisins, cinnamon, dried milk and a pinch of salt, all in one. Totally scrumptious!

IMG_9252Blog

Only a bit sweeter than my tongue usually likes – banana should have been left out!

IMG_9250Blog

Topped with Carrot Raisin Walnut muffin and sunflower buttah

IMG_9248Blog

And served with the new Republic of Tea Red Velvet Cake tea that Sara gave me! It’s made with rooibos and was delicious! Especially when topped with foamy milk and cinnamon

IMG_9240Blog

Happy Fall Holidays!

[And I’m really hoping to be able to say happy birthday to Baby Malone!]

It makes me feel so weird to hear you talk about fall while I live in Houston and it only JUST got below 85*F this week! This morning we walked the kids to school and were attacked by mosquitoes the whole way. It finally rained here about two weeks ago and since it was so incredibly dry all year, the mosquitoes had been “hibernating” until now – they’re aggressive little buggers, too! Enjoy the fall weather! I miss it. (not a native-Houstonian)

I don’t add anything. I just don’t feel that any of the sweeteners on the market are worthy of my consumption on a daily basis. I use Stevia in the Raw on occasion if I have a tea as a dessert

We Brits are renowned tea drinkers. But tea connoisseurs do not add any milk at all as they believe it stops you tasting the delicate flavours. Most regular tea drinkers add a little milk but to my way of thinking, a tea with frothy milk is a complete no no. However, I am always open to trying new things and would like to give it a go. How do you prepare your frothy tea and does that work with any tea?

There are definitely wonderful teas that are best sipped straight to fully enjoy the flavors.

Then there are those that need a dumping of milk to taste better 🙂

I have a $2 frother from IKEA that foams the tea

Thank you, but I meant do you make a concentrated amount of the and add frothy milk in the same way you make a latte by adding frothy milk to an Espresso. Or do you make tea with mainly water and a little milk and then froth that?

The second! Make tea as normal. Froth about 1/4 cup milk. Dump on top of tea.

On a dreary day like today, nothing sounds more appealing than a warm bowl of cinnamony oatmeal. Oh how I wish I could get my paws on a bag of GH oats. Do they sell them in all their stores? I found out there’s a bakery about 30 minutes from my house and have serious plans to get my batookus there this afternoon. Time to go bread crazy! I really hope they have Cvill Crunch bread. That’s your favorite, right?
