Greek Tuna Salad

This Greek tuna salad brings all the best mediterranean ingredients together into a fresh and protein-packed lunch.

this !

Greek Tuna Salad

Sometimes you just need a lunch that checks all the boxes: quick, fresh, filling, and delicious. This Greek Tuna Salad has been on repeat in my kitchen lately! I’ve been eating it straight out of the bowl while standing at the counter (guilty!). But it’s ideal scooping it onto flatbread or pita crackers.

It’s creamy thanks to a little mayo + Greek yogurt combo, zippy from fresh lemon juice and zest, and loaded with Mediterranean flavors—briny Kalamata olives, salty feta, crunchy bell pepper, and fresh parsley. Think tuna salad, but elevated! I’ve always liked my fish salads chunky and crunchy with veggies so it becomes an all-in-one meal.

If you love my tuna pasta salad, think of this as her Greek cousin.

What’s so healthy about tuna?

Tuna is a fantastic source of lean protein, making it a great base for a satisfying lunch that will keep you full for hours. It’s also rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which support heart and brain health, and provides important nutrients like vitamin D, selenium, and B vitamins. Plus, since it’s so versatile and affordable, keeping a few cans in your pantry means you’re always just minutes away from a healthy meal.

Best Tuna Brands for Quality + Sustainability

When shopping for tuna, I look for brands that prioritize both taste and the health of our oceans. Here are three of my favorites:

  • Wild Planet – Consistently ranked as one of the most sustainable tuna brands, Wild Planet uses pole-and-line and troll fishing methods to reduce bycatch. Their tuna is delicious, widely available, and a go-to for eco-minded shoppers.
  • Fishwife – A newer, women-founded brand making waves in the tinned fish world. Fishwife’s tuna is MSC-certified and pole-and-line caught in Spain, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and clean, recyclable packaging. Plus, their products are seriously delicious with their unique flavors like Spanish Lemon.
  • Ocean Naturals – Another strong choice for sustainability, Ocean Naturals sources responsibly and has been recognized by environmental groups for their commitment to ocean health. Their tuna is light, fresh, and makes a great base for recipes like this Greek Tuna Salad.

How to Make This Greek Tuna Salad

Ingredients (Serves 1–2)

  • 1 can tuna, drained
  • 1 tbsp mayo
  • 2 tbsp Greek yogurt
  • Juice and zest of half a large lemon
  • ½ bell pepper, diced
  • ¼ cup pitted Kalamata olives
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • ¼ cup crumbled feta cheese

Instructions

Step One – Drain tuna and flake

Drain tuna well and place in a mixing bowl.

Step Two – Add binders

Stir in mayo, yogurt, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step Three – Add remaining ingredients

Fold in bell pepper, olives, parsley, and feta until everything is combined.

Step Four – Serve

Grab a fork and eat it as is, pile it on a sandwich, or scoop it up with pita chips. I love it over mixed greens for a lighter lunch, too!

Ingredient Swaps + Additions

One of the best things about tuna salad is how forgiving it is. Here are some fun mix-in ideas:

  • Capers for briny flavor
  • Fresh tomatoes for juiciness
  • Fresh herbs like dill, basil, or oregano
  • Cucumbers for refreshing crunch
  • A drizzle of olive oil for richness
  • A sprinkle of red pepper flakes if you like a little heat
  • And if you love dragon breath, chopped red onion for extra crunch
