Glued To The Tube

You know how they say that health decline is proportional to an increase in hours watching TV? I think we must have watched like 10 hours of digital entertainment today. Total overload!

Can’t…pull…myself…away…from…Lost!

We got a last-minute invite to join Hillary for dinner tonight. Apparently she had a surplus of tofu! We had no dinner plans, so we were thrilled to help her eat it – and of course since she is a Lost Lover, we covered an entire second disc today!

IMG_5106Blog

Hillary made Mama Pea’s BBQ Tofu, which I LOVED, long with roasted cauliflower + broccoli, brown rice and MMMM SAUCE!

IMG_5109Blog

This was my first time having the Mmmm Sauce. I was a bit lukewarm on first taste with a spoon, but over everything on my plate – LOVED it! It added so much flavor to everything. I hate to compare it to this, but you know that white sauce you get at hibachi grill places? The one Larbs and I used to dump over everything a la ranch dressing when we were in elementary school? That’s what the Mmmm Sauce reminded me of, and thus, I loved it.

IMG_5108Blog

Thanks for dinner H!

IMG_5107Blog

For dessert, Hillary brought out two more blogger recipes: Chocolate Covered Katie’s Cookie Dough Dip [made with coconut butter, which I have gotten Hillary hooked on ; ) ] and Katie’s Vegan Fudge, made with bananas and coconut butter.

Like the sauce, the cookie dough took me a few bites to warm up to, but it was fantastic smooshed between two graham crackers!! The fudge was very good too – I love all things coconut butter!

Lost is getting so good – I hate that our pace will slow so much during the workweek, but I hope we can squeeze in a few episodes this week. I also have a book club book to finish between now and Tuesday and have 50% left. So much entertainment to absorb in so little time!

Oh, that is kind of funny. JUST like an episode that we saw on Friday of Portlandia (on IFC). They started watching Battlestar Galactica episodes and they were stuck on the couch forever. You have to check it out.

And yum on dinner, looks great.

Don’t worry. As you get closer and closer to the end, it gets a lot easier to stop watching. In fact, once you get to the last season, you think it’s pretty much a waste of time.

What are you reading for book club? After reading One for the Money and a few other lighter reads I’m looking to dive into something a bit more complex. I’ve never seen Lost, the show I would like to watch the whole season in marathon mode is the PBS series Downton Abbey. We haven’t even watched Thursday’s Office yet and I have two weeks of Desperate Housewives to watch! Your dinner looks fabulous.
