Forgot To Knock On Wood

Hey there!!

Were you as annoyed about the server downtime this morning as I was? Probably not

 this !
When the blog is down I hold my breath. HOPING it’s back to stay. And here I was just telling someone last week “my blog never goes down.” Guess I forgot to knock on wood. [Although Dreamhost said it was a larger-that-KERF issue]

IMG_4967-2Blog

After a call with the former Ms. Barney Butter, I whipped out a lunch with our leftovers. It took 2 minutes to put together in a bowl and 15 minutes to eat.

IMG_4960-2Blog

Summer Leftover Salad

  • 2 grilled zucchini strips
  • 1 grilled corn on the cob
  • 2 grilled tomato skewers
  • 1/3 of a small cucumber
  • 1/3 cupish cooked black beans
  • Crumbled Blue D’auvergne (can someone please phonetically spell the pronunciation of that for me!?)

No dressing because summer foods taste goooooood!

New TJ Maxx bowl! <3

    it’s pronounced
    dough as in dough boy
    ver as in very
n’e – there is no english sound like “gn” that I can think of, so just end it with an n sound with some gusto!

For some reason this breakdown reminded me of Brad Pitt in Inglorious Basterds saying “Bone Jair NOH” 😀

the “gn” is like the “nyuh” sound in the word “lasagna” (which is not English but most people know how to say it!). And for D’auvergne, pronounce as Lisa K specifies with the emphasis would on the second syllable. dough-VER-nyeh 🙂

I’m still a little scared of blue cheese but if I ever see this one I will give it a try! Hopefully after this pronunciation analysis I will remember its name!

Hola! I do believe ‘dough-vair-nyuh’ is correct though for risk of over-pronouncing ‘dough’ keep in mind that the ‘dough’ is not over emphasized. It is short and quick with the emphasis on the ‘vair’
    ‘Dough’… How appropriate! haha

That blue is delicious stuff. Right now for blue I’ve been eating Valdeon… it’s a SPICY Spanish blue… makes the tongue really tingle! I really love blue cheese mixed with pasta… it’s a good trick for a quick creamy ‘sauce’!

Love the bowl happy your server is back up! yay! 🙂

    d’auvergne pronounced by French speakers:

    www.forvo.com/word/bleu_d’auvergne/
