Flyin’ Fare

Hello from the Bojangles’ eating area at Charlotte Douglas Airport!! Our airport is the coolest because we have FREE WI-FI and rocking chairs ๐Ÿ™‚ And lots of good eats – including the only Jamba Juice for hundreds of miles! I always try to get one when I travel. I planned today’s to be part of my lunch. I got a Strawberry Banana one. I like Jamba a lot, but it’s no Smoothie King!

The rest: a smallish peanut butter + pumpkin butter sandwich and some carrots.

And I’ve got this guy:

Plus trail mix and bars galore for snacks

 this !

You may be wondering how my smoothie fits into the Thanksgiving Challenge. Well, this is a business trip for me. KERF is a small business! And we were given some funds to get us to and from our homes for taxis, luggage fees, etc. There’s just enough to cover some airport food and a few weekend cocktails ๐Ÿ˜‰ Since I did not choose this trip for leisure, I think it’s fair to put the meals I have out toward my “client.” But I did bring most of my lunch, and you can be sure the husband is following all the rules at home – he’s got his 5 lb bag of potatoes to play with this weekend and will be grocery shopping for the coming week as well.

This morning’s organic test was somewhat of a disaster ๐Ÿ™ Seriously. I was quite upset when I left and luckily my prof told me there would probably be a curve. I hope it’s a big one. I was very prepared for this test, but it was just that. hard. Thanks so much for all of your nice comments and wishes this morning though!

Gotta go do my Foodservice School Lunch Menu while I wait for my flight. Hopefully I can work a mile high as well.

PS. The couple beside me is typing an email in Japanese (or at least I am pretty sure that’s what it is)! She’s logged into Yahoo but her keyboard is set to Japanese. So cool!

See you in the Windy City!

Hi Kath-do not feel discouraged about orgo! I took that class as a pre-med science major in undergrad–WHY do they have to make the class and exams so difficult? Our class averages were in the 60’s and 70’s, and I was taking the class with some extremely bright people.

I will see you at Bin 36 tonight and we will definitely have a drink to celebrate another one of your exams being out of the way. Can’t wait to meet you!

My favorite part of that airport is sitting in the rocking chairs and fiddling with my computer! If I have to make a connection, my preference is always Charlotte.

    Have fun on your trip!!

Yeah Smoothie King rules…. Colorado can’t seem to keep them in business though which is very sad ๐Ÿ™ I find Jamba Juice to be too sweet and not as real-tasting as SK.

Yum eats! When I travel I can’t eat for some reason! I can only sip lots and lots of water.

Safe tarvels! I’m sure you did better than you think on that test! But you’ve got that behind you and an awesome weekend in front of you!

It’s SO good to see someone eat PB/nut better more than once a day! I love PB so much, but I’ve always worried I was overdoing it by having it more than once a day.

    Thanks for the affirmation!!!

Jamba Juice was the first smoothie place that I ever tried! I like it alot more than Robek’s (something that we have in CT)! I have not found any good smoothie places in Philly yet, any suggestions?!

    Have a safe flight!

And Jennifer-I used to be afraid of peanut butter, but now I have learned to to incorporate it about 3-4 times a day in my caloric range and well, it’s a beautiful thing anyone can do it!
