FIVE

FIVE are the number of pairs of shoes I have packed for a two-day weekend.

FIVE are the number of miles I ran in my new Asics this morning!

and

FIVE is the number of times I have unplugged and reset our internet router with NO LUCK 😥

Damn you AT&T!!!

But three cheers for the “network” wireless connection that I somehow have access to (only on my laptop)

I decided for time’s sake to go running this morning. It’s always a shorter workout because my workout starts when I step out the door! I ran 5 miles in the dark (being careful to choose the most well-lit and well-traveled by runners path). I feel like I’ve lost some of my speed!! My legs just won’t move as fast, but perhaps that was the effect of the walking lunges I did yesterday. Splits were in the 8:50-9:00 range.

I felt like I was just getting in a groove when I pulled back into our cul-de-sac at 4.75 miles. Bummer I was out of time! My new shoes did great – I could feel my bones slightly shifting to adjust to them. Hope I have my best run ever on Sunday!

I ran straight into the shower and then straight down to whip up some OIAJ

Ohhhh yeaaaaahhhh

[I was sure to let it cool slightly before pouring the oats into the jar because Lynn says this jar has melted on her before.]

The Mix

  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 2 tbsp Bob’s Red Mill Cinnamon Apple Hot Cereal
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 tbsp chia seeds
  • A pinch of banana (as I froze one)
  • 1/3 cup pumpkin
  • Cinnamon, vanilla, pinch salt
  • Galaxy Granola Vanilla
  • Dark Choco Dreams residue!

Before the weekend starts, don’t forget your Kodiak Cakes mix! It’s only 15% off this week.

I’ve got my whole life packed up in my Envitote and am ready to load up the car! Hope this day flies by 🙂

Your oats quite possibly, look like they could rival my delicious breakfast this morning 😀 nothin beats OIAJ!!
I had a week of my legs feeling like c*** last week – I’d recommend you take a few easy days/up your carb intake – that’s what I did and it worked a treat 🙂

Probably the leg workout you had made your legs a bit heavier this morning. But at least they loosened up and finally caught up with your mental run by mile 4.75, even though it was the final stretch.
Do you have a race this weekend or a long run?

Letting your oats cool before you add them to the jar is probably a good idea. While no one wants the jar to melt (!) you may want to consider that the plastic was probably not meant to be heated and may result in some leaching into your food. If you’re hesitant about throwing your leftovers in a plastic container into the microwave to reheat, then you may want to reconsider the oats in a jar – or at least let ’em cool! 🙂

It’s definitely a concern, but once they cool for a minute, they are merely “very warm” and not really hot. I do prefer OIAJ with glass jars for this reason though.

This darkness in the am makes it so hard to workout in the morning! I’ve been good about am workouts since February, because things always seem to come up at night, but I don’t like running in the dark! I haven’t seen any posts about it, but do you have a RoadID? I won’t leave home without it!
