Not Again!!

So very annoyed ๐Ÿ™

INTERNET is out again.

At least it was for most of the evening.

All I wanted to do was veg out with Gossip Girl and Glee and I was stuck with nothin’. I just cannot win this week! I spent 30 minutes troubleshooting with AT&T (who can’t fix it remotely and must send someone out – despite the fact that we won’t be here tomorrow or Sat to open the door so he/she won’t be coming till SUNDAY because they can’t come when we’re not here. AT&T really does have great customer service, but their product is not making me very happy right now. Hoping this signal lasts long enough to push publish….

So sorry to open with such a grumpy intro! There is nothing more I hate in the world than having a broken internet, seeing as it’s my JOB to be online. (Well, I kind of hate getting my finger stuck more, but that’s another category ๐Ÿ™‚ )

I did have a pretty fun night but feel like it has been swept out from under me! Matt is away at a bachelor party so I had the house to myself. I packed my lunch (and photographed…and blogged) and packed for my trip. Cleaned up the house for potential showings. Never did eat that grapefruit, but I did nibble on cheese while packing my lunch.

And then made this great simple dinner. At least I have one thing to celebrate: daylight!!

IMG_8236 (640x427) (2)

I had a simple fried egg on toast – with melted Crofter’s on top! Mmm. Eggs make the best single girl dinner.

IMG_8237 (640x427) (2)

And Crofter’s North America is so good! Chunky and like blackberries.

IMG_8230 (427x640)

I also roasted some brussels, which were cooking while I packed. I think I ate half a pound’s worth!

IMG_8231 (427x640)

Here they are pre-cooking – just rubbed in about 1 tsp drizzle of olive oil and sprinkled with kosher salt and black pepper. I gave them 30 minutes at 375*.

IMG_8225 (640x427) (2)

My beverage tonight was a second of the Tazo family – Refresh. Spearminty!! So glad this was caffeine free so I could have it for dinner. I loved it! I think the Passion one made a better cocktail, but this was super refreshing. Going to look for these next time I’m in need of a beverage at EarthFare.

IMG_8234 (640x427) (2)

Floating tea in a Bodum glass!

IMG_8235 (640x427) (2)

Food photographs best outside, but it was consumed at a table reading a magazine ๐Ÿ™‚

IMG_8226 (640x427) (2)

I’m leaving the house at 8:30 tomorrow and not coming home so I’m going to be a bag lady for sure. TONS of stuff still needs to be packed for two days away.

Excited to celebrate Casey + Micah’s wedding vow renewal this weekend! Micah is a captain in the army (and flies helicopters!) and the two of them were married at a courthouse not too long after we graduated from college for army purposes (and love!) In the meantime, Micah was deployed to Afghanistan (and luckily was able to still attend our wedding in 2007 on a leave!) and they are now expecting their first baby in July!! They’re having a vow renewal (basically a wedding ๐Ÿ™‚ ) up in Davidson this weekend.

Going to push publish before I lose you again!

I’ve only tried 2/4 but the North America is incredible. The Asia was good, but not very chunky, which is what I lvoe.

There is so much less pressure since DST to photograph dinner while the sun is still hangin’ around. The lighting in this apt is terrible…it’s like a cave!! But now that there is plenty of light, my camera is a happy camper.

Have you tried contacting your internet provider via Twitter? I had a flighty internet connection recently as well. I posted an open tweet to the company, a rep contacted me through Twitter a day later, and the problem was solved shortly afterward! Apparently we got some special attention thanks to the Twitter representative! In my case, the problem was a bad line and they had to dig it up and replace it.

yep, at&t internet outages can be quite annoying. my pappio works for them and i remember many days over the past summers when he would have to stay home from work to wait for a repair man. sometimes he’d get shown up, and sometimes the prob wouldn’t be fixed until after multiple visits. so frustrating! you think you’d get a+++ service if you’re an employee, right? but we got plenty of free at&t uverse tv…which was great for my sis because she hogs the tv. thank goodness, as a result i don’t own a tv myself and never have to be a slave to shows!!
