First Things First

IMG_1182

Other than a long beach walk this morning, we haven’t actually be out playing yet – we had to do a massive grocery store trip first! (My parents did a mini one yesterday). 7 foodies with strong opinions about food and an elaborate meal plan meant it wasn’t a simple trip, but now the fridge is stocked for the week and we’re ready to hit the sand!

IMG_1179

Sandwiches with salt + vinegar chips and a Carolina beach peach first!

IMG_1181

Lathered up!! Sunscreen = so far, so good!

IMG_1177

See you for cocktail hour!

Good for you – starting with the obligatory beach shot. Also love the sunscreen photo. I took a long walk this morning but it wasn’t as scenic as yours. I love the water.

hahaha! I can just imagine a heated debate in the frozen foods aisle. popsicles flying, strong words said. 😉 glad you’re all finished now and back to sun and fun.

Looks heavenly! Opinion question- how does that sunscreen do greasiness-wise? I’m unfortunately oily and lots of sunscreens just make me look like a shiny, greasy mess (plus the subsequent breakout). Would love to know if this one doesn’t seem to be that way!!

It’s good!! Took a while to rub in, but I don’t mind being pasty white like I did when I was a teenager. It soaked in well a few minutes later. Not too greasy.

Perfect! Thanks Kath- I don’t mind the white pasties, either, just hate the breakout-inducing grease factor!

Isn’t a well-stocked fridge one of the best feelings in the world?! I imagine it would be pretty tough to satisfy 7 foodies but I bet you’ve got some delicious meals ahead!

I want in on those food discussion! Sounds like fun. My husband loves food but there is no discussion about it, I on the other hand always want to talk about food and different tastes, textures or brands… drives him bonkers.

Aw, I miss vacations at the beach with my family! We always did a crab feast one night and a huge shrimp boil another night. Nothing like sitting around the table for hours with loved ones. Have a great vacation!

I am from a family of foodies also…we finally figured out a way to cook, eat, relax & enjoy our beach vacation dinners! You pair up with someone other than your partner & the two of you shop, cook & clean for everyone else for one night. It became very competitive in a “who can make the most awesome dinner” kind of way. Multiple courses, wine pairings, music selections, first course on the beach, second course on the deck, third at the table, etc..etc…It’s a blast!!
