Favorites!

I sure can find enough online "work" to do on my days off. Listing Craig’s list stuff, doing some blog behind-the-scenes work, blogging, and emailing took up my whole morning. No complaints though because that’s the kind of work I love to do!

I set off for the gym a little late – at noon – and biked there on this cold (yes, relative, I know) gloomy day. I did 30 minutes of ellipticalling with Real Simple (found a beef slow-cooker recipe I might try!) and then finished with 10 minutes on the stat bike. Then I biked home wet with sweat, which made me much colder!

It was 2PM by the time I came downstairs all dressed and I was quite hangry!

Smoked salmon to the rescue!!! One of my very favorite foods. This one was wild Alaskan from Trader Joe’s. I used to be a non-wild Alaskan from Harris Teeter that I honestly think tastes better (it’s not as salty as this one) but in my quest for ethical eating, I gotta make good choices.

Homph gomph gomph!!!

Great Harvest bun with ~2 oz salmon, a Laughing Cow and dried dill

Plus my other very favorite food: greek yogurt + granola + pumpkin butter!

More homph gomphs!

I’ve got a conference call at 3PM and some frolicking to do. We’re headed to Karen’s for dinner because Matt’s brother Andrew is arriving from New Orleans for the holiday!

Hope you worker bees are on your "Friday" soon!

Yum, smoked salmon is one of my favorites, too.

I recently got an iPhone and I’m a little overwhelmed by all of the apps! Would you mind sharing some of your favorite apps?

I love salmon cooked every way EXCEPT smoked! Weird? I went to Alaska during summer 2008 and ate salmon almost every meal. It was just SO good and fresh.

I would never bike in the cold… Just goes to show how dedicated you are to a healthy lifestyle, I guess! 😀 I admire you for your willingness to give up taste to fit your ethical beliefs. Besides, I’m sure a little more of that good bread could offset the saltiness of the salmon… 😉

I’ve never had smoked salmon, but I LOVE salmon otherwise. Smoked salmon is very high in sodium and my body reacts so badly to high sodium foods. 🙁

I couldn’t wait for my birthday — I had to buy a crock pot today! LOL Looking forward to your future recipes. 🙂

good choice on wild salmon! ok maybe for the most selfish reasons ever, but my family commercial fishes in alaska and due to farmed salmon, basically the salmon market has bottomed out bc the price cant compete with cheaper, farmed fish. no money in it and we didn’t even fish salmon last yr bc of the poor price. bummer. anyways…
