Exquisite

We did end up going for a run after all! Just a short turkey trot hair-under-a-5K with the dogs to rev our appetites for lunch.

IMG_3769 (640x427) (3)

And rev we did!

IMG_3771 (427x640)

Emily told us about Le Pain Quotidien and it’s epic bread basket and amazing salads and we were sold.

IMG_3772 (640x427) (4) IMG_3774 (640x427) (2) IMG_3775 (640x427) (3)

We made our way upstairs and to a cute table overlooking the bakery

IMG_3777 (640x427)

In the French spirit, cappuccinos were ordered

IMG_3787 (640x427) (4) IMG_3790 (640x427) (2) IMG_3788 (640x427) (3)

And bread was served.

IMG_3781 (640x427) (2)

We ordered the exquisite bread basket that comes with an array of spreads and breads

IMG_3785 (640x427) (3) IMG_3792 (640x427) (3)

Including several organic hazelnut butters!

IMG_3793 (640x427) (4)

IMG_3794 (640x427) (4)

Definitely not the time to tell the sever to take away the bread basket. [In fact, never do that!]

We all partook in one of the most delicious bread displays one could imagine, including orange and berry jam and chocolate and brunette hazelnut butters

IMG_3797 (640x427) (4)

The menu was impressive well beyond the bread, offering a wide selection of organic, vegan, and gourmet options. I was especially impressed with the salads!

I decided on the Aged Goat Cheese + Arugula Salad with Parmesan and Pinenuts

IMG_3805 (640x427) (3)

It was fabulous, and I cleaned my plate. The goat cheese rounds were…exquisite!

 IMG_3808 (640x427) (3)

It also came with more bread! I didn’t attempt to eat it all, but I did have one last taste for dessert 🙂

IMG_3804 (640x427) (3)

My dates all had really great lunches too – so fresh and so green, yo

IMG_3798 (640x427) (3) IMG_3801 (640x427) (2) IMG_3800 (640x427) (3)

Off to get hitched!

Haha, this is too funny! I’ve been to a couple different locations of Le Pain Quotidien in the DC and I ordered your exact salad. It was delish. I love the peppery arugula. Yum!

I also get the cappucinos and their awesome.

That bread basket looks dangerous, in a very good way. Its hard to judge the size of those nut butter jars by your pic though. Is it tiny, like you get a fresh one when you order or they are ones that have been used before?
