And They Lived Happily Ever After

We had such a great time this weekend!!

The highlight of last night was obviously the delicious END PIECE of wedding cake I enjoyed. After dessert I got up to go to the bathroom and came back to the table to find Matt had located the extra-cake table and snuck over another small piece for us to share in raspberry flavor. He knows me so well 🙂

The food was great [best bleu cheese I’ve ever had!!!!], the setting breathtaking, the weather perfect, and the bride and groom in love <3

IMG_3877 (640x427)

The drive home, however, was long, dark and NOT handsome!!

IMG_3867 (640x427)

This morning I feel like someone stuffed me with 5 loaves of bread. Oh wait, that someone was ME!!! On top of my 1.5 pieces of cake, I had a Manhattan, too much butternut squash ravioli in cream sauce, a wedding favor cookie and a lot of chocolate “chips”. Definitely ready to make a grocery list full of my favorite green foods!

IMG_4022 (640x427) (2)

Didn’t know what to make for breakfast today [neither filling oatmeal nor smoothies were appealing], but felt that it should involve fruit and some of the fresh Great Harvest bread we picked up from Great Harvest Warrenton before the wedding.

IMG_4025 (640x427) (2)

A coconut muffin, a small loaf of Honey Whole Wheat and some Apple Crunch Bread!

I toasted some Apple Crunch under the broiler and topped it with a pumpkin + greek yogurt mix, Crofter’s mixed with coconut butter (thought this would make a sauce but it made hard clumps like berries!) and a blob of Nuttzo.

Plus kiwi

And coffee

No idea what’s in store for today, but we’ve got blue skies above!

A nice light breakfast is perfect after a heavy day of eating. But how often do you get to enjoy good wedding cake? Not too often 🙂

Enjoy your day, we’ve got nice cool weather in MN and I am enjoying every second of it!

If you’re ever in Warrenton for the day, have dinner at Iron Bridge Wine Company which is a few blocks down and across the street from Great Harvest. I worked there until a week ago when I moved across the country. It’s got a great selection of wine and the food is yummy! Try the baked brie and shrimp and grits. Or if you’re there on a weekend, they have started working with the Farm Buyers Club to do a special local menu. Fried green tomatoes and beet salad!!

Quick question…when you buy a lot of bread do you have a hard time eating it all before it goes bad? Or do you freeze it? My husband and I find that when we buy bread some goes bad because there are just the two of us and we don’t eat it fast enough…we recently started freezing all our bread immediately after buying!

We love bread and rarely have trouble eating a loaf 🙂 But we also eat really good bread that lasts a good week. But we do freeze loaves whole if we have a lot on hand

I just recently found a Great Harvest near my home. I love the honey whole wheat bread. It is low fat and will not turn green for 7-10 days. It is great for those who are looking to avoid oils and are watching the fat content. I like reading your blog to know more about what is available at GH.
