Duke & Pizza

Happy Easter!!

Foodblog-6879

And GO DUKE!!

When we found out that Duke had made the Final Four, we nixed all plans to go out to dinner and decided to do a big pizza party instead. In addition to our 10 for Easter, we invited over the Struckmann crew so Sarah’s dad, a big Duke fan, could join in on the sports fun. Between the three dads and Matt, we had some major Duke fans in the house who were glued to the TV for the game. We brought them passed appetizers and homemade pizzas as they came out of the oven and all ate salads at halftime. Duke FOR THE WIN!!!!!!!!!

Pimento cheese and crackers –

Sarah brought bacon-wrapped dates!

Two salads – hearts of palm and veggies plus a kale Caesar that I put together –

The Sayas were very happy when Duke won!

And Baby Sawyer thinks they are a crazy duo!

For dessert we had Sweet Haus cupcakes – lots of ’em!

Earlier in the day we ate mom’s mac and cheese and fruit salad for lunch after the Allen’s arrived –

We also had a soccer game (and a huge cheering squad)! Matt and Chelsea both played soccer in college, and my team was very short of players for an Easter-weekend game, so we registered them for the game (it was an expensive sporting event, but for a good cause!) It was a blast to play together. Wish they were on our team always because we  pulled off a great win!!

Hope you’re enjoying some Peeps and chocolate today : )

You guys are lucky to be able to have yummy cupcakes so often! I’m a relatively new reader but I thought you went to Davidson, not Duke?

    Happy Easter!

I’m curious about the bacon-wrapped dates, not something I’ve heard of before; sadly I’m not a fan of dates, but I might have to try this.

We wrapped pitted dates with half slices of bacon and baked them uncovered for about 20 minutes. So easy and good!

My husband is a DUKE fan, and we go to church with mostly UNC fans. Needless to say he had some bragging rights yesterday LOL.

Oh Kath, I absolutely LOVE your blog and I have been reading for many years…love your little family!
BUT, your new set-up is so
Difficult to read! There is an ad every other paragraph. Are you still working out the kinks or is it always going to be like this?
