Days Off

IMG_9382Blog

Not too much going on here today. Sunday is Matt’s main day off, so I don’t want to bombard him with house things. So he had a short and sweet honey-do list: hang a heavy mirror, Craigslist his old chest freezer and have lunch with me! The rest of his day is going to be spent with our friends brewing beer 🙂

We went for a quick 3 mile jog before lunch, and while I showered, he actually made the lunch too!

And a few leftover snacks

We dined outside at our wooden table. So fun on a pretty day!

I’m taking it easy today too, although I might hang a few more pictures myself! Also might go for a walk with Faith, read my book [still working on The Postmistress, which I do not love], and make a fun dinner. A little birthday cake eating too!

I didn’t love the Postmistress either. Depressing. Pointless. Are you going to finish it? I often struggle with that – should I finish a book I’m not enjoying?

As someone who is very large and unfit, and is proud of herself for going on a walk, I love the way you casually say you went on a “quick” 3 mile jog before lunch and then carry on with your sentence. If I ever managed a 3 mile jog it would be the focus of an epic blog, for maybe days or even weeks to come. Good for you for being so fit (and young 🙂 ) that such things are simple and I hope it continues that way for you. I realise you work hard at it and it is inspirational to see how healthy living turns out.

Sounds like a nice day to me! Relaxing days are always the best but as a high school student, they rarely happen. This week I have tests, projects due, a horse show, and an orchestra concert! Yikes……

By the way, I really need to visit Cville soon because I miss your Great Harvest bread…it’s just too good and nothing up here really lives up to it! 🙂

Good luck on Craigslisting the furniture. I have about 10 things I need to do that for but don’t want to deal with the flakes and nuts that seem to reply to most of my ads…lol 🙂

And the pimento sammie looks stellar!

Have fun on the rest of your weekend!

My dad was the type to stop watching a movie if he didn’t like it (even walk out of a theatre), and I’m the same way- with books, as well! His motto was “I already wasted my money, why waste my time, too?” 😛 Not that theres anything wrong with finishing what you started, but I’m always onto-the-next-one when I’m not into something.
The same applies for men, too, now that I think about it…;)

Love that motto. I tend to continue, thinking I can’t waste my money. But good for your Dad – he’s a genius. My time is more precious than my money after all! Thanks 🙂

I share that philosphy! I’ve been known to leave theaters if I am not enjoying a film and I don’t read beyond 50 pages of a book unless I’m enthralled. I get bored easily and regret wasting my time on an activity when my time can be better spent elsewhere.

I keep seeing pimento cheese stuff. Haven’t tried it yet!! And chili sounds good 🙂 I am eating some soup right now as we speak – homemade butter nut squash with homemade chicken stock, coconut milk and curry spice, DELICIOUS, and it has a very nourishing secret ingredient, but it sometimes scares people — LIVER!!

I started reading The Postmistress a few weeks ago and just can’t get into it either. I think I get really confused about whose who and what situation they are in, etc. I called it quits last week since most of my reading is done when i throw in the occasional elliptical workout and that book just did not pass the time. I’m now reading Fly Away Home and loving it!!

I thought everyone was familiar with pimento cheese!!! That’s a staple at our house.
Here in NC, we eat in on almost everything, including on burgers. A grilled pimento cheese sandwich is the best. I had one for lunch today….with jalapenos. Is pimento cheese just a Southern thing?
