What started out as an icky rainy morning blossomed into the most beautiful fall afternoon! We had a fabulous time drinking pumpkin ale and eating pizza at The Brickhouse!
I felt a coffee headache creeping up my shoulders not long after I posted my Second Breakfast post, so I made some to go for the ride up to Mooresville
And soon enough we were in front of the Carolina Beer Company
Just as the blue sky appeared!
Love the Cottonwood line…
For $5 we got a tasting class and 5 tokens to taste from the selection –
I started with the Irish Style Red
The boys were very happy
But so were the girls!
Second I tried the Frostbite, which was very hoppy. I passed it off to Matt after ample taste testing
Then I tried the American Wheat. It was good, but not as good as the Platinum Blonde that the others tried at the same time!
Somewhere in the mix Matt won a raffle and tickets to the Charlotte Renaissance Festival! We might go three weeks from now…
Next up: Best of the Best. Old faithful from college. The best pumpkin ale ever crafted!
At this point I paid a visit to the "Used Beer Dept" LOL!
And we enjoyed the ambiance of a nice rock band called Wally Germany & Dave Butler –
Plus the Chardon Polka Band!
Matt got a growler of the Pumpkin Ale for my birthday week. I think he loves it more than me 🙂
I’ll forgive him
Take that back….I think I love it more than him!!
After the tasting we headed to our old stomping ground for a late lunch
At our favorite restaurant!!
It was so fun to visit Davidson with friends from a new era
I got another favorite: the $2 Brick House Red
For lunch I ordered a side spinach salad
Munched on a roll that I totally didn’t need
And split a veggie pizza with Matt
Oh myyyyy it was so good. I had 2 slices and a big bite of a third that I also totally didn’t need but ate anyways
After lunch we went for a walk around Davidson‘s campus
And believe it or not, I realized when were were there that it was my freshman + sophomore year roommate’s wedding day!!! And believe it or not again, we stumbled upon the wedding party
We felt like we shouldn’t interupt, but I did get to say hello to her parents and snap a photo of the wedding party. CONGRATS RUMMIE AND JUSTIN!
We were inspired to do a little engagement photo shots of our own 😉
And we got back in the NERDmobile and headed home
I was greeted with some fun birthday cards!
A card and chocolate from MarathonVal
Plus a funny card from Lillian the Cat
We are not sure what the evening entails, but I might save a post for the AM since this one is up so late! See y’all then!
