By Request

Morning! Nearly Afternoon!

BLOG-9662

Matt’s flight was delayed by an hour last night, so we didn’t end up going to bed until 1AM. Consequently, we slept till 9AM.

I had been 3 weeks since Matt has had KERF oatmeal, so by special request I made a big pot

BLOG-9670

We incorporated some Great Harvest ingredients:

The end of a bag of Groovy Granola (which was incredibly crunchy!)

BLOG-9650

Huckleberry Preserves – with seeds! My fav

BLOG-9652

And a new kind of vanilla! It was a hint more marshmallow than usual – which you know I liked!

BLOG-9653

I also made the oats with leftover coconut milk, but sadly, I didn’t remember this until I started blogging so it wasn’t a noticeable difference.

BLOG-9647

BLOG-9666

The Mix

  • 1/3 cup muesli mix (leftover from Matt’s trip)
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk (leftover – could barely detect it 🙁 )
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 giant banana
  • Pinch salt
  • Sprinkle cinnamon
  • Groovy Granola
  • GH Preserves
  • Homemade crunchy peanut butter

Not sure what the day ahead holds, although I feel like we’ve just blown through the first half of it for sleeping so late and blogging taking up the better part of the pre-noon hours!

That vanilla sounds great! And I love preserves with seeds, but my bf doesn’t because they hurt his teeth! I think he has sensitive teeth though 🙂

Yum! Feel free to come to MY house and make oats for me anytime you wish 😉 Hehe. I didn’t wake up until 10:30 this morning! It’s almost noon and I’m still in my pj’s, which is a shame because it’s a beautiful day outside!

Hope you guys have a nice Sunday 😀

You’re oatmeals all sound so yummy. With one exception…that bananas….I’m assuming that they are used to add flavor and substance….but I’m allergic to the things 🙁 Sad…cause I used to love them. Is there a way to substitute them with something else or is it cool to leave it out altogether??

I agree that coconut milk doesn’t make much of a difference in oats! If you really want a coconutty flavor though, I’ve made oats with 1/2 c water and 1/2 c coconut milk kefir. It’s sooo good.

After all you two have done the past few weeks, it’s okay to have a slow day! Put aside the to-do lists and daily agenda to enjoy a day of just being home and being together. You’ve both certainly earned it! I hope your day is filled with ‘Hey! Want to. . . ” and not “Hey, we need to…” 🙂
