Button Me Up

Flashback to wedding day 2007: these green button mums were everywhere!

IMG_8067Blog

They hold a special place in my heart : )

A106-0152 (533x800)

I treated myself to some at Whole Foods today!

IMG_8066-2Blog

Also took myself out to lunch. I had to run to the store anyways, so I decided it would be a more nutritious lunch if I ate vegetables off the salad bar than if I put something together from my empty fridge.

IMG_8057-2Blog

I was also randomly craving tofu!

IMG_8061Blog

I filled my bowl with mostly simple salad bar items this time, and stayed away from the pre-dressed salads that turned me off on my last visit to WF. This time I got a bed of greens, dressed in olive oil, and then a layer of plain beans and grains. On top – some kiwi, pasta salad, garlicky kale, sesame sticks, a potato, and two kinds of tofu – roasted balsamic and sesame grilled.

IMG_8058Blog

Sipped on this guy. LOVE root beer. It was good!

IMG_8062Blog

The fridge is now completely stocked. Does it look so?

IMG_8063-2Blog

Word of advice: I bought this canning funnel, which is soft and collapsible, a year ago and it is SO handy for filling jars with staples!

IMG_8064Blog

See you on the other side of dinner!

Those Zevia’s are great. Have you had the ginger ale? I always keep those on hand if my tummy is acting up.

I need one of those jar funnels! Brilliant idea – I still find popcorn kernels laying around from my last spill. 🙂

If my fridge looked like that, I’d be panicking that we had no food to eat. The current state of my fridge is the exact opposite — filled to overflowing (which is also not good) — since my husband returned from the garden on Sunday with tons of produce. My ideal would be somewhere between your picture and my stuffed-to-the-brim fridge.

Not a fan at all. You’re depriving your body of things it needs! Protein, fat! Your liver, if functioning properly, should be as good of a cleanser as any so long as you’re feeding it a variety of whole foods from all the food groups
