Butterbeer + Figamajigs

If you got the lightening bolt hint, you were right that we went to see Harry Potter tonight!

It just so happened that my one free night in a week and a half is a night that Matt didn’t have to be in bed by 8PM so we joined our friends Caitlin, Jason and Annie for a little HP action. I’ve read all the books, but gosh, I don’t remember any of the details! (Matt has read them all in English and Spanish!) The movie was really good. Not too dark or violence heavy, which I hate. Perfect amount of pumpkin juiciness.

So since we had tickets for a 7PM movie, we had to eat dinner at 6PM. Problem was I was not the slightest bit hungry! My stomach was still full of salad.

So I decided to take the chicken, grilled veggies + quinoa salad and save it for tomorrow and made a portable stowaway dinner instead to bring to the movie.

I made a sandwich with Laughing cow, mustard, veggies, chicken and endive (a leafy kind of endive)

IMG_9430 (1024x768)

Packed a handful of grapes and this Figamajig bar that BethT send me AGES ago. I always wait for the right time to eat things, and this was absolutely perfect for tonight’s occasion 🙂 I thoroughly enjoyed it as a mid-movie dessert. It was delicious and chewy – and just like a healthy candy bar.

Thank goodness for big purses 🙂 I put my dinner in this little sack to be disguised as a make-up bag. But it’s not like they ever look in your bags anyways.

Yum! I always take things into movies, too. 🙂 Better than movie theater popcorn! I figure since I’m paying ~$10 for a ticket, I get to bring my own food.

I love sneaking food into the movies. Their prices for food are so unbelievable. I feel like I’m winning when I bring my own food!! I was forced to by a bottle of water when I went to see Food, Inc (I forgot mine) and it was $3.00!! Disgusting!! I’m not the biggest HP fan but I hope you enjoyed the movie!!

I always sneak my own food into the movies… but never helps cost-wise… my husband STILL gets a big ol tub of lard… oops… popcorn and a soda. What am I going to do with him? 🙂

Dinner looked yummy!!! And I love figamajigs!

Great stowaway snacks! I haven’t read all of the HP books yet, but it’s ok my ever-growing to-do list. 🙂

I love bringing my own food into the theatres. When I was little, I thought it was illegal or something so I always thought I’d get caught. It’s not the police, haha!

Haha I do the same at movie theaters. Sometimes, I sneak in coffee by putting it upright in my bag and walking verrrry slowly past the ticket guy until I’m clear. I hate it when they check your bags at amusement parks though because they’re strict on outside food, even if it’s just snacks!

I totally always sneak snacks into the theater! Usually store-bought candy which is no healthier than what’s on offer but it’s cheaper!! In my brighter moments I’ll think to bring dried fruit or granola bars.
Nice work on the stealthy bag!

Not only are are the “food” at the movie theaters unhealthy, they actaully don’t taste all that good to me anymore. I love to sneak in healthy snack to munch on. PB sandwich is always convenient and easy to bring.

haha I always sneak in food into the movie theatres too! Their food is just WAY too overpriced, not to mention unhealthy! Even though I do enjoy some movie popcorn and candy from time to time, they charge enough that I never buy it.

Also, laughing cow wedges are so yummy in sandwiches!

I really need to start bringing healthy snacks to movies. We usually eat before and end up snacking afterward to make sure we don’t have any of the unhealthy (and expensive) options they have at the theaters!
