Bumping Pump

IMG_4032Blog

First day back to Body Pump in ages (although I did my own BP circuit in Jamaica!). Class was PACKED. I mean packed to the BRIM! All of the equipment was taken. But there was also lots of energy, so this was a good thing! Chris led the class nonstop today – no breaks between songs. Sure got a good workout.

IMG_4031Blog

Lunch was a tribute to Jamaica: a pineapple salad and seafood on crackers!

IMG_4028Blog

And by seafood I mean a tin of sardines in a mustard sauce. They were great with the buttery cornbread crackers!

IMG_4026Blog

Salad was great too – lots of veggies, pineapple, olive oil, honey, peanuts.

IMG_4023Blog

Time to get back to work!

My gym was PACKED today too! Lines for ALL of the cardio equipment and difficulty getting time to do sets in the weight area!
Yesterday was a different story! There were only 4 of us in boot camp class and I loved the individual attention!

I had a tuna salad with carrots yesterday and now I’m craving the sardine version – delicious!

I have no comment on the exercising as of now! 🙂 I’ve been having a lazy start to 2012. And a baby. So not that lazy I suppose! 🙂

I just LOVE that dish your seafood salad was on. Enormous salads were on the menu for lunch today in our house too. Although, it is getting cold, I think it will be veggie chili and cornbread for dinner. Perfect meal for my husband watching the Winter Classic Hockey game.

    Have a wonderful day!

Yesterday was a ghost town at my gym. I have body pump tonight and after reading this I think I’ll plan to get there extra early to claim a spot. I’ve never had an instructor not take breaks between songs. Sounds intense!

I couldn’t even get a parking spot at mine! Grrr… As a regular gym go-er, I can’t wait until some folks have given up on their goals, so I can get my work done.

Yes – that sounds terrible, but GEEZ!

It certainly doesn’t help that my gym has way more equipment than parking spots. 🙂

Yeah that does sound terrible. How about being helpful and encouraging of people trying to start a new year on the right foot? It is negative attitudes and being made to feel like I didn’t belong (because I wasn’t a ‘regular’) that made me quit my first gym and join a better one. You should want MORE people to stay commited to the gym, because it is new money that allows for expansion, and perhaps a better gym for you.

      Just my 2 cents.

Ha- that comment totally reminded me of my crabby meathead ex-boyfriend who would get pissed off every January when more people started going to “his” gym. (I always lovingly called him a meathead- totally the obsessive bodybuilder type. The *crabby* part is why he’s now my ex 😉

Now that I think about it, he was also the kind of person who looked down on people who didn’t exercise regularly. Ironic, huh? 😛

I definitely do not disagree with you at all. And I am working on it. And like I said, it is partly a parking issue too. (Plus when I wrote this comment originally, I had to leave the gym because there was not ANY parking spots, which is frustrating!)

I definitely never show anyone that they shouldn’t be there, I just get my workoutdone and go home. But its something I am trying to work on, because you are right, we definitely (as a group of gym go-ers) SHOULD be more encouraging of people to reach their goals, etc.

i’m hesitating about what times to go back to the gym now. it seems like it always gets a huge rush right after new year’s… people making resolutions to get in better shape & whatnot. 😉 i might just stick to some pilates in my living room for a little while.

I’m glad people want to get fit or think it’s the right thing, but it’s sad that it dwindles off after a little bit. It should be a lifestyle. Oh well, I’m glad you got some good lifting in today! Enjoy the rest of your day Kath!

Loving the solid surfaces under your dishes.. like your tables, the floors etc… really makes the photo’s pop. My gym was loaded too… think I will move my workout time to 6am instead of 7 and see if I can beat the crowd. Can’t stand to wait for use of the weight machines… once i am in my groove.. I gotta keep moving.

I’ve always wondered if pineapple with salad would taste good, that picture makes me wanna give it a try! And gyms after New Years are crazzy! I worked Front Desk at a gym when I was 16 and January-March is a mad house…and then it’s back to normal when people abort their New Years Resolutions haha.

I exercise outside so I don’t have to get squeezed like your sardines on crackers. I have to agree that a packed gym gets a little under my skin, but more power to you if you want to get in shape. I tell my friends start in November if can and you will be ahead of the game by January.
