Buffet Shopping

Day after traditions continue!

And Larbs + Matt joined us just in time!

IMG_2487edited

Before they arrived, we took my parents to see the new bakery location. Very exciting. I felt energized being there!

IMG_2471edited

It’s a really cool spot – we’re excited to get things going!

IMG_2472edited

When we returned, people were just starting to get an appetite for Thanksgiving Round II

IMG_2481edited

IMG_2482edited

All the shopping we do on Black Friday involves the leftover buffet : )

IMG_2480edited

IMG_2488edited

My tasting plate featured the finest of the leftovers –

: )

IMG_2490edited

All the desserts came out too

IMG_2494edited

I shared a sliver of pie with Matt and had a bite each of the others.

IMG_2491edited

After lunch, we set out on our traditional Black Friday hike.

Thankfully the weather held up. It was blustery, but dry.

After 4 miles up and back to Monticello, we headed over to see Karen’s house. She has a kitty named Timmy in her neighborhood who likes to visit her for treats. Apparently he wants to move in too!!! We found him up in her bedroom.

Upcoming

  • A pumpkin beer blind tasting
  • Dinner at one of our favorite restaurants!

A day after Thanksgiving hike is a great tradition! My family always went on a Christmas day hike up a very small mountain in Colorado Springs. It feels so good to get moving!

Will you guys be doing any shipping once the bakery opens? I live in MD (close to DC) and I would LOVE to try out some of your yummies. The location looks great and those leftovers looked even better 😉

Love your tradition of a post-Thanksgiving Day walk! If it wasn’t so nasty here in Atlanta, we might do the same. At least I got in a Thanksgiving Day half marathon though. 🙂 Have a great time tonight!

YAY. I know exactly where that is. I am so excited for you guys to open so I can get some bread. I got some of the cinnamon chip bread in Warrenton that last time I was coming home from DC. It is my favorite bread to make french toast with. I have tried to mimic the recipe but it does not come out the same.

We have Black Friday leftover traditions too! Our family is pretty big and does a huge Thanksgiving, but the day after, my immediate family heads back over to my aunt’s house for leftovers. It’s more intimate and a lot of fun!
