Breakfast Pint

Green juice in beer glasses is so much more fun 🙂

IMG_1028 (640x427)

As expected, I didn’t sleep that well and woke up with a bit of a foodover, mostly because I was parched with dehydration! I barely drank any water yesterday. I slept (restlessly) until 9:30. We went to bed at 1AM and I woke up at 7 and knew that was too early to get up.

I decided some vegetable juice would be just what I need (for some reason I can’t drink water when I don’t feel well. It makes me queasy!?)

My juice was made with kale, cucumber, carrot, apple plus ginger and lemon. I LOVE the lemon!!! It covers up the vegetableness and makes it so much like a tart lemonade.

IMG_1032 (640x427)

[FYI, I got this nice little canvas box to keep the juicer in. I keep it on a shelf in the garage and can easily carry it inside to use and back out of the way]

IMG_1026 (640x427)

After my elixir had settled, I made some energizing oatmeal.

I kept it super simple today: banana oats with almond butter.

IMG_1043 (640x427)

  • 1/3 cup oats, milk, water
  • ~2 tbsp 9 grain cereal with more water
  • 1/2 small banana
  • Maranatha pushed into the hot oats so it would melt!

I got this cute tiny spoon at World Market yesterday! Love tiny utensils.

What do you see? A whale?

IMG_1039 (640x427)

JUST finished breakfast around 10:45! I’m planning to go to a 1PM cycle class at the Y and then study all afternoon with Victoria for our Metabolism final exam tomorrow. It’s rainy and gross out there. Blah. Good day for studying!

Great idea with the canvas tote. I never thought of doing that and because our kitchen is so small, I have to store appliances in random places.

I have the same problem with water when I don’t feel good – I can only take tiny sips or it makes me feel yuckier!

    Cute spoon!!

I had a little too much wine and sweet yesterday at my ugly sweater party. A huge green monster and a liter of water made me feel a ton better this morning! Funny how the simplest things can make a world of difference!

I know what you mean about a foodover. Sometimes that’s almost as bad as a hangover! I also notice I don’t drink enough water if I eat a little more at a party!

That spoon is too cute! Food hangovers are awful. I feel just as dysfunctional as I would with a “real” hangover!

I LOVE your idea to store your juicer in a cute canvas bag!!! I’m definitely stealing that idea. I have a love-hate relationship with my large appliances since I can’t live without them, but I could live without the clutter they cause!

It’s gross out there! I’m still in my jammies and taking some time off from studying! I had my diet tech exam yesterday and a BIG portion of it was what happens to the body when it’s under metabolic stress and acute illness, am I weird that I think that stuff is cool?? 😀

I’m the same way about not being able to drink water when not feeling well! Waking up with a bit of a hangover makes me crave diet soda for some reason. The thought of water makes me nauseous.

    Anna,
Here’s the post when I got the juicer. The only kind I’ve ever tried is this one (mine and my friends’) and it’s awesome. juices whole lemons and apples. It’s about $150 I think.
