Blast

Last night I was actually able to read in bed so I’m blasting through this so I can do it again!!

Woooooooooooooooooooooshhhhh!

After work I made my way home, worked for a while, and then headed back out to the gym at 5:30. It was one of those days when I was running pretty far behind schedule!

I wasn’t too hungry, but I had a small yogurt + granola snack: Chai granola and Organic Valley Plain yogurt drink

In a new lime dessert bowl I put in my shop 🙂 Sagaform has some AMAZINGLY awesome bowls and I’ve had a handful of them coming out soon!! Very excited. They are very KERF. Get a set of two of these here.

IMG_4530 (640x427)

I ventured to the gym on my bike and did a simple 30 minutes on the elliptical (doing my homework and studying Better Homes + Gardens!) and then 10 minutes of solid, heavy weight. That’s about all I can do both mentally and physically 🙂 Then I hopped on my bike and headed home.

I slacked on the meal plan this week and so we’re kind of winging it and eating up our pantry at the same time. Tonight Matt made some sardine salad and steamed up a head of green cabbage.

I was going to just eat my sardines in salad form, but then I remembered a recipe for a Sardine Pate I’d seen recently on CHOW that used yogurt and a food processor to blend them.

IMG_4537 (640x427)

With a big blob of Voskos low-fat yogurt –

IMG_4539 (640x427)

It turned out a little liquidy but I really liked the texture!! It was easier to eat because veggies weren’t falling off my crackers into my lap 🙂

IMG_4556 (640x427)

I am on the hunt for bowls for you guys!!

How cute is THIS Sagaform snack bowl!!! A sister to the one I used last night, this one is my favorite color and comes with an even cooler spork that fits right inside the bowl! Find it here.

IMG_4546 (640x427)

I ate my pate with some Dr. Krackers.

IMG_4553 (640x427)

The company just sent me some of their new low-sodium crackers to taste test. Could I tell I difference? Side-by-side, I could. The classic ones were definitely saltier, which I liked a lot. But the low-sodium ones were still really tasty and if you just handed me one I probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. I’m not watching my sodium, so I wouldn’t go out of my way to hunt down the low-sodiums, but if you are, another good tasty option!

IMG_4542 (640x427)

My pile-O-steamed cabbage 🙂 I like it nice and plain – with just salt, pepper and a drizzle of oil just how Rowan-Salisbury Schools taught me to love it

 this !

IMG_4554 (640x427)

My spork worked quite well with this meal – for stabbing and spreading!

IMG_4557 (640x427) IMG_4558 (640x427)

Simple, but fulfilling.

Going to READ!

Go eat a sardine.

:O Doctor Kracker comes in low sodium??!! That’s exactly what I was thinking when I bought some last week, “Boy they’re good, but awful high in sodium!” I have to find these!!

Those new dishes are so cute! Love the eating utensil. 😀

All of your bowls and flatwear are so cute AND functional! And I have to say thanks–I tried sardines a couple weeks ago sautéed in tomato sauce over wheat pasta and it was delicious!!! Way to be a “champion” for the Under-dog (or fish!)

Did I tell you I eat a can of sardines every single day? I buy the ones that come in tomato sauce, or hot sauce, and I mash them u quite like your pate. I never would have thought I’d become addicted to sardines, but it seems that I need my daily oily fish as much as I NEED my daily block of chocolate 😀

I tried sardines the other day based on your recommendation – and just couldn’t do it. Too fishy, I was gagging them down. Too bad, they are a healthy and cheap way to get those omega’s!

I like the lime dessert bowl. How do you have room in your cabinet for so many dishes! Also if you have company do you just use a mix and match set? or do you have a bunch of the same?
The spork may be a bit too weird for me though… 🙂

Bowl so cute – Sport so cute – I never in a million years thought I’d be on the constant hunt for “fun dishes” and generally only interested in one or two vs. a “set”…this so goes against all the laws of my OCD – I even added “fun and funky” kitchenwares to my Christmas list … um, yes … I said “Christmas list”. HAHA ENJOY your reading — me too!!

I was already planning on having a sardine salad sandwich today, so I just thought it was a funny coincidence that you enjoyed one yourself. 😉 Sardines are definitely 1 of my ultimate favorite seafoods. I just started my summer accounting class, so I’m hoping to do well in it. Is it a class that you have found to be helpful in your nutrition career? I’m just curious how necessary it is for the average nutritionist that may not open his/her own business. Anyways, I hope you’ve been having a great week thus far! 🙂
