Bed & Breakfast

That’s just about all I’ve done since we last talked 🙂 Oh, and a workout!

Getting up was easy this morning, and I was on the Stepmill by 5:50. I spent 30 minutes on it with my favorite magazine, Body + Soul, and then cooled down with 10 minutes on the Squirrelliptical. The Stepmill was extra hard today! I checked the clock twice ready to get off. I ended my workout with some upper body lifting – biceps, shoulders, delts, and triceps all while moving up and down an aerobics step.

The husband caught up on sleep while I was gone (he’s working 1-7pm today) but that means he gets up and makes me breakfast while I shower. Today he did a B&B “part of this complete” breakfast spread (with the request of tomato, spinach + feta omelet from me 🙂 )

IMG_1366 (768x1024)

Sadly the omelet turned into scrambled eggs (we have yet to perfect an omelet technique in our Circulon pans). This was 1.5 eggs, tomatoes, baby spinach and about 1 tbsp feta per person. Plus some fresh frozen basil.

IMG_1370 (1024x768)

Plus a stale piece of Cinnamon Raisin Walnut with raspberry jam. This was from last week and was on its last leg – but it’s still good!

IMG_1367 (768x1024)

We also split a grapefruit

IMG_1369 (768x1024)

I also had a little leftover Superfood smoothie, but it tasted gross (I could taste the freezer burned berries) so I only had 2 sips.

IMG_1371 (768x1024)

Butterscotch Toffee!!! The husband took one sip and said “What have we been missing!”

IMG_1372 (768x1024)

I’m off to food lab, where we’re studying crystalization, then I’ll be working most of the afternoon because I’ve got a Ladies Brunch + Movie planned for Sunday afternoon when I need to be studying for two exams!

CHECK OUT this forecast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 16* yesterday, 70* on Sunday!?! We get our share of sub-freezing weather in NC, but it never lasts more than a few days and we always have January and February days that reach 70.

Weather 26

Later gators.

I am insanely jealous of that weather forecast. The weather here freaking sucks. It’s not super cold (I mean, pretty cold, but reasonable), but it’s just always. freaking. cloudy.

My parents have a couple odd Circulon pots and pans (yard-sale and junk-table pickups) and eggs are always a nightmare in them.

Super jealous of your weather! At least it’s going to get up in the 40s today.

Omelets aren’t that hard to make, you just have to be patient. Wait until you see all the edges have built a crust, then lift up each side and roll the pan around, let it sit and crust up, then keep repeating.

I then put my toppings inside, roll it into an omelet, put cheese on top and then remove from the heat and put a top on for a few minutes until cheese melts. Works like a charm for me!

Jealous of your weather, although we may hit 50 tomorrow which is unusual for Chicago!

Circulon pans are a scam and just junk. The kind with the circle ridges on the bottom, right? This does not prove anything when cooking (it’s just a marketing scheme) and they are actually unsanitary, as food can sometimes tend to get stuck in the ridges. It’s not you, believe me. You’ll never be able to make a proper omlet in one of those pans.

The best pan for making omelettes I’ve ever had is a £2 one from IKEA. The one I have has lasted nearly a year. Perfect omelettes every time! If you’ve got an IKEA near you, go and get one (or three!). Enjoying your posts very much, as always. 🙂 Happy Friday!
