Bear Outing

Sledding was fun!!

IMG_4659 (640x427)

We bundled up the Bears and took them for a ride in the driveway

Actually, Matt and I went for a long walk in the snow after lunch.

But first, we worked on home improvements.

Gold –> Silver

IMG_4671 (427x640)

Used to be hideous gold!

We are Matt the plumber is currently working on these:

And I cleaned the guest bath CRACK TO CREVACE!!! It was disgusting and I’m embarrassed to say how dirty the baseboards, ceiling and cracks were. But it’s sparkling now!

We were still in our PJs when we got hungry for lunch!!!

IMG_4641 (640x427)

I heated up the last of that bean + cauliflower bland soup and added:

  • Leftover kale
  • Juice pulp (~1/3 a cup)
  • Hot sauce
  • Pumpkin seed dressing
  • Pumpkin seeds

It was pretty good and tasted like the sum of its parts!

Side dishes:

IMG_4651 (640x427)

Half an orange, half a carrot with TJ’s PB (the best combo!) and half a bag of Popchips that the company sent me for Xmas! Matt and I split them all. These were the salt + pepper Popchips and they had the slightest hint of citrus (from citric acid) and were really good!!

After lunch we went on our icy walk. The roads are BAD!! A sheet of ice. Luckily there isn’t ice on the trees so I hope there’s no risk of a power outage. We cancelled our restaurant week reservations ( 🙁 ) and are getting cozy with some rice + beans + greens and possibly a bottle of wine tonight! So glad we’re getting some quality time together. And the Bears too!

Looks like the bears had a great time in the snow! (And I suppose you two did, also 🙂 )

The brushed silver hardware looks great — I’ve always loved that look. Very 2010. Enjoy your cozy meal and wine!

ooh! Love what you’re doing with the bathroom! 😀 Its amazing how little details can really transform a room – it looks so elegant!

Being iced-in is definitely a bummer. nonetheless, enjoy and relax tonight! (You guys totally deserve it)

Love seeing the house transformation you are going through pre-move!!
I’m in the process of my own transformation (just a room for twins arriving in June!) and am having a hard time with a couple of areas…
School Work – You just recently went through your RD material and kept very little for your exam, correct? Have you long since parted with college (undergrad material)? I’m having a hard time letting go, especially text books.
Library/Books – I have a whole bookcase that needs boxing up. Should I edit first? Books are so hard to let go of!

I have parted with my coursework (most of it) because I figured that I wouldn’t use it for the exam since we are taking a review course.

Books: will you EVER read them again!? If no, give them to friends!

I think snow like this is definitely a good opportunity to spend quality time with loved ones, rather than get hassled about going out! I’ve never had carrots with nut butters, but really nut butters make everything taste better, so I’ll have to give this a go!

How cute are those bears? I bet they burned a lot of calories on their sledding adventure. Gotta remember that the next time I’m in an exercise rut-it’s easier when it’s fun! Your post was a great reminder to get moving even when it’s so cold and snowy out. Although I have to admit it is really enjoyable to sit by the cozy fire! Maybe I’ll use that as a reward for AFTER the exercise. 🙂
