Back n Forth

Do you swear it’s not really Saturday? Because it really feels like one. I can’t wrap my brain around Friday!

I had plans to walk into town today for Body Pump and work and ride home with Matt later tonight after we went out. Before I left, I planned out my whole day based on our events: workout clothes, shower, bakery clothes, nicer clothes for Friday night events, different shoes. I packed it all in a backpack and was about to set out until I realized Matt’s car was in the driveway! That meant he had biked (for the first time since we opened). This meant I needed to bike too (otherwise I wouldn’t have a ride home tonight!)

Map

Our house is a good 2-3 miles from all the cool stuff in town. It’s not a huge deal on a daily basis, BUT my gosh it would be so nice to be closer. The gym, downtown, the bakery and the neighborhood where we want to buy a house someday are all on the other side of down – and miles of super duper hills separate them. I don’t mind the commute when I’m just going to the bakery and back in shorts, but adding another stop or two complicates things. And it means I always have to wear biking tennis shoes.

Logistics are a big part of daily planning!

I ended up having to re-pack my bag with bike-friendly clothes and shoes, which meant I had to change my outfits to shorts and not dresses! Logistics totally revamped.

Blabbering on today! Body Pump left my upper body exhausted. I showered at the gym and headed to the bakery.

As I was leaving, the words “Faith Levine” caught my eye!! Look who is teaching a DANCE class at my gym and guess who signed up on the spot!! I’m excited to get back into dance (did you know I danced for 12 years!? I’m not very good, but the foundation is there).

IMG_1922 (427x640)

I got to the bakery to find lots of granola in the making!

IMG_1925 (640x427)

Raw gooey granola is quite delicious!

IMG_1921 (640x427)

I also found our shipment of new shirts!! Unfortunately the women’s small (oh gosh, should I be saying the size!?) the size I got was waaaaay too big!!!! It was like a giant box, and definitely not a women’s cut.

IMG_1927 (640x427)

But it sure fit Matt well!

IMG_1931 (427x640)

We also got t-shirts, which fit perfectly!

IMG_1930 (640x427)

After I bagged some bread, I ate lunch

IMG_1936 (640x427)

A big tupperware of greens plus olive oil and honey, cucumber, green pepper and hummus.

IMG_1937 (640x427)

And strawberries plus a hard-boiled egg I made this morning. I need to make them more – so easy!

IMG_1938 (640x427)

IMG_1940 (640x427)

IMG_1935 (640x427)

Check out Matt’s killer tuna grilled cheese on Popeye!

IMG_1934 (640x427)

Not two hours later my stomach was growling again. I’m so sorry bread, I did not mean to ignore you!!!

IMG_1942 (640x427)

A slice of High Five! (which has 5 grams of protein + fiber per slice!) with some Cinnamon Vanilla Almond Butter made a perfect snack.

HAHA I laughed out loud when I read the size of the shirt crossed out…so ridiculous that you should even have to think twice about writing that…but ANYWAYS…phew, that’s a lot of biking! I didn’t eat any carbs with my lunch today and the same thing happened to me, I’m running to go get some bread right now because I’m so hungry!

I know you can’t divulge the actual recipe for the Great Harvest bread, but can you at least list the ingredients of the Popeye Matt had his sandwich on? It looks delicious! Also, is that a Great Harvest bread that I might be able to get out here in Montana, or one of your own creations?

By the way, congratulations on the bakery! 🙂

I would absolutely love a dance class like that. Maybe I’ll drop a note in our gym’s suggestion box.

OMG! You said your size…oh no! JK 🙂 Anyhow, those t-shirts are super cute. I hate the way polos with logos like that are usually a generic unisex cut – way too boxy!

I had the opposite issue this morning – I woke up with a start and thought oh my God I’m late for work! So sweet when I realised it was Saturday 🙂

Hard boiled eggs are so convenient – I boil a batch on Sunday and they last me all week. Great for topping salads or just to have on their own.

Yay for dance class! And to having to figure out crazy commutes! I live only 3 miles away from the main part of base here in Korea, and I thought biking it would be a breeze…
um. Not. so . much. More a breeze to fly into traffic and fear for my life! But hopefully I’ll master it soon! Until then I have a whole day of outfits in my back pack for the days activities!

As to the polo shirts…remember that a real polo shirt is designed for playing polo, not for emphasizing the sexiness of its wearer or playing to current trends. Where are these shirts made? If they’re made in the USA, that would explain why the company still takes functional authenticity and classic, timeless style into account. Local and real are good concepts when it comes to clothes as well as food!
