Atypical

Good raspberry morning!

IMG_1305Blog-2

I was up running by 7, per usual. I guess turning running into a habit was really all I needed. I no longer wake up famished and ready to dive into a bowl of oats. I wake up EXCITED about my run. So so weird, and so not me!

But I’m enjoying it while I can! I ran 4.5 miles today on a different route near the UVA grounds. Today’s route was HILLY! One thing I love about my usual 4 miler through my neighborhood is that except for 2-3 big ones, it’s relatively flat. Today’s run was not, and it wore me out!

I survived with a slightly slower pace and one walking break up a mountain.

Back to some rasp in a jar!

IMG_1313Blog

Overnight Oats:

  • 1/3 cup GH oatmeal mix
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup yogurt
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 whole small banana

–> all stirred together and overnight in the fridge

This AM:

  • Groovy Granola layer
  • Blackberries
  • Raspberries
  • A tsp of peanut butter hidden somewhere in there

IMG_1303Blog-2IMG_1310Blog-2

Also atypical of me: I’m pumped to go in to work!!! Perhaps a cup of coffee will be nice when I get there 🙂 WE NOW SERVE ICED COFFEE!!

That looks AMAZING! I love the berries.

Just curious, what time do you usually go to sleep? Do you need a full 8 hours to be able to get up and run?

Yes, I must have 7.5 hours but I aim for 8-8.5.

I went to bed at 10:30 and got up at 6:26. I usually count 8 hours and set my alarm – so if I’m in bed at 11 I set it for 7. 9:45 I’d set it for 6. When we opened the bakery though I got less and it was bad!

Yay for iced coffee! Also, I totally know how shocking it is to suddenly be a morning runner when you’re usually not! I go in and out of the routine (currently out due to injury 🙁 ) but it’s always amazing the transition from when you first start doing it to when it’s more of a habit. Glad it’s working out for you and keep it up! (I’m running variously through ya 😉 )

If you get the “refill” size, it’s not a bad ‘cost per use’ kind of thing. The refill lasts quite a while.
