And Then I Got Off My Bike..

Matt and I like to do something outdoorsy together on Sundays. A scenic run, a hike or a long bike ride. Last weekend we hiked. Today we biked!

We biked ALL over town – covering 16 miles in an hour 45 minutes.

We aren’t planning to buy a house for a while – at least a year – maybe longer. But we used today to scope out neighborhoods. We’ve pretty much decided exactly where we want to live and the style of house we want. Now it’s just a matter of saving and saving until we can afford to buy there.

I didn’t feel all that tired …until I got off my bike!! I walked inside like a cowboy who’d rode 100 miles on a horse!

We were both ready for lunch – a pimento cheese-based lunch!

Lots of leftover veggies with a honkin’ pile of Kelsey’s pimento cheese

An AMAZING stack of Carr’s whole wheat cookie crackers with chocolate goat cheese

Look closely! They were amazing! [I can’t get enough of these Wendy!]

Oh, and pineapple.

Tasting plates are the best!

I got a little to do this afternoon, and then we’re going to dinner – we have an invitation!

I know – that was totally my reaction too. Kath, did you buy the chocolate goat cheese at a farmer’s market or make it yourself with plain goat cheese?

Wow 16 miles is awesome! It’s fun to dream about owning a house and where to live and what you’ll do with it. I have another 1-2 years until I can realistically buy, too. Wish it was sooner!

What a great ride! I havent ridden a bike in ages.

I think it’s AWESOME that you are sitting tight, really evaluating a home purchase, and just really really making sure. I have JUMPED into many real estate transactions only to find myself with a house I dont truly love or a payment that’s ridic expensive and then have had to un-do it all. You are smart for taking your time and in this market, it’s SUCH a buyer’s market, you can name the tune 🙂

Before my nerve disease started, I used to love going on long bike rides with my boyfriend on the weekends. He just got home from Afghanistan, but I enjoy going swimming with him now when he comes to visit. That’s all I can do now, and I am lucky he used to swim competitively because he loves it.

So…I totally got the O magazine today – call me as lame as you want – I think I’ll look as it as inspiration. In my dreams.

That’s a lot of biking! -do you road bike? Also, a “hot topic” among my female friends is that their BF’s/husbands eat differently than they do and more – making it difficult to live together! Do you and Matt eat the same pretty much?

I can SO relate to the “and then I got off my bike” comment! I went for a 44-mile ride on Saturday and had to stop mid-way through for a water refill. Getting off my bike was the biggest mistake! My bike fell over and the brake caliper got nudged into the wheel rim. I rode the last ~20 miles basically like I had the brakes on! MY LEGS WERE ON FIRE! I just blogged about it… Ha!

It does make the food taste that much better, though! 😉
