All’s Well That Ends Well

My day ended with this:

IMG_9593Blog

So how it started is no longer important!

I was a grouch. I was really tired. I don’t know what was up! Perhaps the fact that I didn’t get too much activity today.

Instead of yoga, I made labels! [Labelmaker on sale for $14.99 at Staples!]

IMG_1186BlogIMG_1187Blog-2

And ate Baked Oatmeal Snack Bars. I’m just not in love with these bars. Sorry Kath!

IMG_1188Blog

I am in love with our army of local honey bears! They are now friends with Beaker, Bocker + Churton. That is…until they are adopted by the locals.

IMG_1189Blog

We have sandwich menus and newsletters!

IMG_1191BlogIMG_1192Blog-2

And we have WILD ANIMALS barging into the house!!!

IMG_1193Blog-2

Sniff sniff

IMG_1195Blog-2

The Tiger LOVED my grandmother’s oriental rug! He must have smelled Smotey and Murph and all the kitties of ages past.

IMG_1196Blog

This evening I perked up with some IPA

IMG_9584Blog

And some veggies

IMG_9582Blog

And Faith + Tate!

We had a last-minute impromptu joint dinner. I love joint dinners! Combining ingredients and labor makes everything easier and fun!

IMG_9588Blog

I was the grillmaster – zucchini, salt, pepper, olive oil and smoked paprika

IMG_9579Blog

Matt was the beer master. Duh.

IMG_9587Blog

Faith worked on the beans – a can of refried pintos from Whole Foods mixed with homemade black beans and some herbs, cayenne, cumin and salt

IMG_9589Blog

We piled the beans, veggies, and Faith’s HOMEMADE CHEESE (she made it this afternoon with grass-fed milk and a special technique that I know nothing about but admire her so for!)

Toppings included greek yogurt and Cholula. We served them on crispy corn tortillas – also from Whole Foods – that I keep in my freezer for last-minute dinners. I grilled them and they got crispy so we were able to break off pieces and eat the tostadas like nachos! Loved this dinner!

IMG_9590BlogIMG_9585Blog

Faith + Tate jumped up enthusiastically and without hesitation after dinner at the suggestion of “Let’s go for a walk!!” The evening had turned from stormy to beautiful! We hiked around the neighborhood for a good 40 minutes until settling into Francesca’s final slice of Tiramisu and a few cookies I had frozen from Cville Market’s bulk bins.

IMG_9597Blog

Faith and I had a mini Gossip Girl love fest oogling over our favorite episodes, characters and songs. The finale episode was wonderful – best of this season!!

I’m off to read my book – Matt’s got the alarm set early because he is BAKING tomorrow!!

Getting in a lot of activity and moving around really does affect someone’s mood. I think we just get used to keeping active and when we aren’t it’s mentally and physically difficult on us.
