Ahead Of The Curve

Boy am I feeling run down today. I had about 2 hours of nausea this morning. I’m unsure if it’s pregnant, jet lag or possible sickness coming on.

My cure? An hour walk. I called my mom and she said “Shouldn’t you be on the couch?” But you know  – walking (slowly) almost always makes me feel better, and when I got home lunch sounded good.

IMG_6874Blog

Our fridge is pretty bare, but I found just enough to make something good: eggs, avocado and jalapenos in a whole wheat tortilla! This tasted WONDERFUL to my palate today!

IMG_6870Blog

Tons of messy, drippy grapefruit on the side that saturated a whole napkin!

IMG_6869Blog

IMG_6873Blog

I lent Karen my car for a few days, so I’m carpooling with her to pick hers up and then off to fill the fridge for dinner. Two things that are definitely on my grocery list: sharp cheddar cheese and avocado!

See the curve!?

Ooh, you’re definitely starting to show! That’s exciting 🙂 Good job for walking even though you were nauseous. If I’m not feeling well, all I want to do is lie down, but inevitably the only thing that actually helps is moving around. Do you refrigerate your avocados when they’re ripe? We never had them in my house growing up and I’ve only purchased them on my own a handful of times, so I’m not exactly sure how to handle them.

It’s so funny how you feel like you definitely have a bump in those early-ish weeks…and then by the end, you’re like, “What was I THINKING?!? I didn’t have a bump at all!!!” Now that I’m nearing the end, I look at my twenty-week pic now, when I felt so big and legitimately “pregnant looking,” and I look so small, haha. Regardless, you look great!

You’ve definitely got a little bump going this week! So cute. Sorry you’re feeling like crap though. It comes with the territory although I bet a little bit of jet-lag has something to do with it too. I always feel icky after traveling and I’m not even preggers. 13 weeks is when I ran my half marathon . . . and it’s also when I first noticed the very slightest bit of curve in my stomach. Very exciting times 🙂 Also, I had wicked bad morning sickness until like 16 weeks and eggs . . . EGGS . . . they were awesome. I think the more protein you eat, the better. At least in my case. <3

Can definitely see the curve! I hope you’re feeling better soon. It’s amazing and crazy what an effect pregnancy can have on the body. Just do whatever you feel like doing and eat what sounds good. I suffered nausea almost the entire time with my second daughter and only gained a pound (sounds crazy, I know). She weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz. and will be twelve soon :).

I used a walk as a cure for feeling crummy today too! I’d had a headache for a couple days straight. It was so nice out that I told my seventh period class that we were going to walk around the track for half of the period. It worked like a charm – no more headache!
