A Visit To Davidson

We’re taking our time getting home tonight. I feel like we take a lot of short trips but not too many vacations together, so when a weekender feels like a vacation I don’t want it to end! Thanks to Kate,Nate, Liam, and Gilbert for hosting us!

image this !

We decided to take the mountain route home so we could stop into Davidson for a bit. First stop was the Union for lunch. It’s so hard to pay cash here when all we did was swipe a meal plan Cat card for four years!

Hummus, pepperjack and veg on Rye with split sweet potato fries!

image

A long (hot) walk around campus was next.

Baby’s first visit!

image

We found two huge new dorms going up by West

image

but no professors to say hi to in their offices

image

Four years of dorms! Matt and I lived in the same dorm till our senior year!

image

We visited ye ole watering hole

image

And ended up at the store where we found one of Bocker’s brothers

image

And two cute Davidson items for the baby!

image

Back in the auto, we enjoyed a baby shower favor for dessert 🙂

image

4.5 hours to go!

I went to UCLA and EVERY time I go back it’s different. I like seeing the changes, but it makes me kind of sad that I feel like I don’t know the campus as well. I cannot wait to buy my unconceived child Bruin wear 🙂

Awww. I LOVE visiting my Alma Mater! My baby’s first visit was when I was only 9 weeks pregnant! My girlfriends and I all met up for Homecoming. We planned the trip before I got pregnant, and needless to say, it was a little bit different than if I hadn’t been in my first tri! I can’t wait to take the baby back there, and dress him in cute Vandal Gear! (University of Idaho Vandals!)

Baby got to visit daddy and mommy’s old stomping grounds 🙂

Are those sour patch kids that I see on the table by your plate? I love to eat them, but try not to buy them while I am pregnant–they are not considered “real food!” (LOL)

They tore down our college and rebuilt it somewhere else. Kind of sad to never get to go back. Sounds like you two are having an enjoyable trip back home. Safe travels Kath!

Very cute gear for the baby! 🙂 I was wondering if, given that you are such an excellent organizer and eater, if you could do a blog post about how you plan and go grocery shopping. I feel like I could be way more efficient in this area, but need some advice. Help Kath!

    Thanks,

Everytime you show photos of Davidson I wonder how different it looked in the early 60’s when my all time best friend went there. He was a Sigma Nu and I think he graduated in 1962.

Great pics! I haven’t been back to campus since about a year after I graduated – even though I lived in Cornelius for 4 years post graduation! I had no idea they were building more dorms. Growing, growing.

The college I went to had more local than national sororities/fraternities (I was part of a local) but we did have SAE, and really respect the men of that brotherhood!
