You are here: Home / Lifestyle / [A] Good Morning!

February 21, 2010

[A] Good Morning!

Matt and I went up to bed at EIGHT THIRTY last night. I was ready to climb in and read and I thought "It’s not a weeknight – why on early are we in bed at 8:30!?"

You probably want to hear that we got dressed and went to a bar, but alas, we ended up falling asleep at 9:45 (after I watched House Hunters on Hulu 🙂 )

And then we slept and slept. I woke up at 7! We must have been really worn out.

I woke up with a bit of a sore throat today. Hope I’m not getting sick! Will have to pack greens into my lunch today….

…because breakfast was all about the oats!

IMG_6365 (640x427)

THE MIX:

  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1/4 cup Bob’s Red Mill Apple Cinnamon Hot Cereal
  • 1/4 cup soy milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Pinch salt
  • 1/2 banana
  • Vanilla
  • [FORGOT the chia seeds!!!!]
  • 1 tbsp cottage cheese (all that was left!)
  • Crumbled Great Harvest Raisin Bran Muffin
  • TJ’s PB Sauce (see this post for the technique – guess I need a recipe page!)

IMG_6367 (640x427)

Super delicious bowl!! The sauce was good, but not as potent as regular PB, so I’m going to continue to flip flop back to normal PB eating methods for the majority oft the time.

IMG_6372 (640x427)

With some coffee! Matt doesn’t pour it right so I don’t get fun froth when we both have it. He pours it too fast or something!?

HAPPY SUNDAY!!!! So excited for the day ahead 🙂

Actually, I love that you guys just went to bed early. That’s my dream, if I ever find someone to love/love me back! Also, if he works at a place with muffins for oatmeal, all the better 😛

I have to tell you.. yesterday I registered for a dinnerware set and the pattern reminded me of a bowl I saw in one of your posts and LOVED. Today I was going through some of your posts to point out the bowl to my fiance and I realized how many beautiful and eclectic bowls and dishes you have! So jealous! I would love to have a collection like that 🙂

Sometimes there’s nothing better than turning in early on a Saturday night, give you a chance to wake up early and get more out of your Sunday.

I love your muffin oats, it looks like such a great blend of textures.

My husband and I always go to bed early … I don’t like sleeping in so it works out well! My body doesn’t get confused either, since I’m usually up and to bed at the same time every day.

Oats look good! I made your oatmeal pancakes this morning – topped with mashed banana and syrup. Yum!

I went to bed early last night, too — it felt good to have a full night’s sleep under my belt – especially when I’ve got a bunch of stuff to do on Sunday. I hope you’re not getting sick!! It seems like it’s that time of year, and everyone’s getting a little somethin’somethin’. The oats look amazing, so hearty and filling. Yummm.

I always feel weird when I go to sleep early on a weekend but sometimes there is just nothing I can do to stay awake. Usually it is better for me to hit the sack instead of getting the munchies and eating my way through a box of cereal!

Have you tried melting the PB in a separate dish in the microwave for 20-30 seconds? We love making the banana/walnut/PB oatmeal combo on weekends and I’ll reuse the dish I microwave “toasted” my walnuts in to heat the pb to a runny consistency.
