A Continental Breakfast

Morning!!

Other than a 4am phone call from the bakery inquiring about an oven control, we slept pretty well. Although sad news: this hotel is not generous with its internet. I have to march all the way to my room to publish a post today, and they blocked Netflix!! Meaning – we went to bed last night still wondering what happens in LOST. Bummerrrrrr!

Breakfast buffet was fun – oatmeal with trail mix

Lots O Fruit

IMG_6739

Baked goods

IMG_6742

I combined milk with oatmeal and trail mix and crumbled some brany muffin on top

IMG_6745

And loved this fruit on the side!!

IMG_6746

10% caf, 90% decaf!

IMG_6747

We’re dining with GH Nashua, NH and GH Layton, UT!

Time to get motivated, inspired and act like a sponge…

Wow, that looks like an amazing breakfast spread! I wish I had all of those options every morning. Although the baked goods might be too tempting to have around on a daily basis 🙂

Wonder how many people then spend the $$ to watch a movie? Not many I’d bet. Sooo annoying.

My first thought was that it used too much bandwidth but now that I see that comment above, maybe it is so more people will pay to order movies! I hope it’s not that second…that seems really cheap on the hotel’s part if it is.

That’s a really nice continental breakfast spread! I remember when we stayed there they had this HUGE buffet set up (I guess I just thought it was huge since I was so little?) and there were a million things to choose from! Haha one of the few things I remember about our trips to SD. That and the horrible sunburn I got on my back…

I always heard coffee was bad when you were pregnant. I always wondered how I was going to survive without coffee when the time came. Is that an old myth or a new study?

The consensus now seems to be 100-200 mg is fine, but I still mostly stick to decaf so I can have multiple mugs when I’m out. I still drink black tea though

I drank a cup of coffee most mornings when I was pregnant. I ended up glad I did. When you really need the coffee is after the baby is born, and the nurse told me it wouldn’t affect the baby as a breastfeeding mom, especially since I had been drinking it while pregnant.

What a lovely buffet. Fruit is such a refreshing treat. I can smell the coffee through the computer. Coffee is just about my favorite thing in world, so I have to limit myself to 1 or two cups a day. I remember during my first trimester it did not appeal at all to me. Then, all of a sudden at 13 weeks, it smelled like heaven again. I used to drink 1/2 cup caffeinated a day when I was pregnant. I used to make 2 small cups a day 1/2 reg 1/2 decaf. It is so funny how you can find a good study or a bad study on just about anything. Go with your gut and enjoy every minute of your pregnancy!

Ugh! I swear, more often than not the more expensive the hotel, the stingier they are with what is included in the price. That doesn’t change the fact that when given a choice of cheap hotel + free amenities or luxury hotel + a la carte amenities I will pretty much always choose the pricier option :-/ At least breakfast looks like it was tasty and fresh though 🙂
