Full, Freezing, Fun!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr – Is that breeze bringing in cold air from Alaska or something? It’s not too bad without the wind, but after standing in it for 3 hours, we’re frozen solid!

IMG_6720

This afternoon Matt and I strolled downtown for some window shopping – which turned into real shopping!

IMG_6719

We ended up popping into a store that had Toms, tried them on and each came out with a pair. I’ve been wanting to try them on for ages, and once I did I realized why everyone loves them. So comfy, laid back and versatile!

IMG_6718

His + hers [mine are my favorite color of 2012: purpley gray!]

IMG_6725

Our first even of Convention was a big buffet dinner out on the Sun Deck. Too bad the sun wasn’t there!

IMG_6722

I sipped a sparkling water without ice, plus cherries!

IMG_6724

And dove into a spread of Mexican food

IMG_6726

IMG_6727

We had beans, rice and simmered meats over tortillas with all the fixins – plus some chips.

IMG_6732

And black bean soup that was cold by the time I got to the table from the wind!! Despite the heaters, we were freezing.

IMG_6733IMG_6734

I warmed up with dessert though – flan, sopapilla and decaf coffee that I shared with Karen.

IMG_6736

I’m just not a flan girl, but the sopapilla was like a cream-filled donut!

I can’t wait to tuck myself into our big bed and watch the season 3 finale of LOST!!

I am not a fan of flan either, but Mexican food is my favorite hands down. Hopefully there will be a few warm days for you all while you’re here.

I love that picture of you! It’s too freaking cute! And, mexican food= love. And I am in Hawaii and it’s freezing bananers!! Snuggling in bed is always the best way to solve that problem 🙂

Tom’s are the best. I own about 5 pairs and can’t wait to get another pair. 😉

The Tom’s…nice! I bought 2 pairs last week online (silly me, I will never do that again!) and ended up having to return them b/c they were both a half size too large. And they didnt come in my size so that was a bust out. Glad you found some…I want to love them so. I just need to figure out my size!

And yes, it’s CHILLY the minute the sun goes down…and even when the sun is up. 60F isn’t “warm” with a 25mph ocean breeze gusting at you for hours!

I love my Toms so, so, so much. Tip- make sure your big toenails are trimmed to increase their shelf life. The toes do wear out quickly if you wear them often. Despite the “toe-ventilation” in mine I still wear them constantly!

    Possible rain tomorrow 🙁

I’m sorry to hear it’s been so cold! We had great weather up in the SF bay area earlier this week, but today was FREEZING (or relatively so, anyway… around 63, I think). I hope it warms up before you guys head back home!

That is really a bummer it was cold out for dinner. I remember taking my family to Sea World and we had a lunch buffet with the whales. Needless to say, despite the heaters and sweatshirts, it was freezing.

I love your Tom’s. Tilly’s carries a similar brand. But Tom’s is a leading for charity. Love the significance behind the Tom’s brand.

I’ve heard of Tom’s but not aware of them much. I saw Emily wears them too and when you just showed the picture of them I was like… don’t know if I like them? Then I went to the side and see they are supposed to be like those slip on canvas shoes that were popular like 15-20 yrs ago! I’ve see those types of shoes in magazines lately and I think slip on canvas and canvas deck type tennis shoes are going to be really popular this spring/summer! Enjoy!

PS. I love flan. Every year that I go to Mexico (not this year thought 🙁 ) we ususally go get groceries at the local store and I ALWAYS get flan, which is sold like yogurt by Yoplait there. It has the brown sugar mixture on the bottom. Yummy treat!
