Wedding Eve

Happy Wedding Eve!

I was able to scoot out of the office a few minutes early today but it wasn’t enough to prevent me from sitting in traffic for an hour :( Luckily I was mentally prepared for this, but I still didn’t think it would take me an hour and a half to get there. I abandoned the thought of going to the hotel first and drove straight to the lake house instead and changed in my car.

Check out this gorgeous house they rented for the wedding weekend!

IMG_8271 (640x427)

I didn’t end up eating my Larabar and orange because I got word there were plenty of veggies to be eaten when I arrived!

I was greeted by my own groom :)

IMG_8260 (640x427)

And a mason jar of Moose Drool home brew made by Matt himself for the occasion

IMG_8270 (640x427) (2)

I just love that they had mason jars for the cocktails!

His keg

IMG_8273 (427x640)

The setting was so cute

IMG_8274 (640x427) (2)

And I dug right into the veggies and hummus!

IMG_8275 (427x640) (2)

IMG_8265 (640x427)

Plus nibbled on the fresh fruit

IMG_8288 (640x427) (2)

After tasting the beer, I switched over to lemonaqua – my own creation of 75% water, 25% lemonade, ice and lemon. Since I was mostly drinking to sip what was in my hand (and also the designated driver!) I switched over to non-alcohol mocktails for the rest of the night and had a few of these. Boy am I glad I’m cozy + sober right now! Special events are still a trigger for me to overindulge, and I’ve found if I keep alcohol to one drink I do just fine – and surprisingly enjoy myself so much more too.

IMG_8306 (640x427) (2)

Soon enough the dinner spread was put out – a fancy BBQ feast!

IMG_8295 (640x427) (2)

BBQ

IMG_8305 (640x427) (2)

More gorgeous fruits

IMG_8291 (427x640)

IMG_8292 (640x427) (2)

A huge salad

IMG_8293 (640x427) (2)

Some cold salads – potato + cole slaw – and baked beans!!

IMG_8301 (640x427) (2)

For dinner I doctored up a bed of greens and veggies with a bunch of fruits on top, some balsamic dressing and a big ole pile of beans on the side. I love baked beans! I wasn’t really in a BBQ mood and this salad was killer good. They had so many fresh foods!!

IMG_8322 (640x427) (2)

IMG_8318 (640x427) (2)

Our friend, The Beard, no longer has a beard. But he’ll always be known as “Beard”

IMG_8311 (640x427) (2)

Frat fun

IMG_8314 (640x427) (2)

Maggie the wedding dog

IMG_8316 (640x427) (2)

Matt played with kids all night!

IMG_8329 (640x427) (2)

Late in the evening some cheesecake bites made their appearance

IMG_8325 (640x427)

Instead of just digging in, I got a plate and spoon and savored two of them. And then ate a third (plain) on a whim because I had to try all three flavors!

IMG_8326 (640x427) (2)

Excited to sleep in tomorrow and hang out all morning!! I LOVE WEDDINGS!

IMG_8324 (640x427) (2)

A looooong drive back to Davidson and we’re settled into the hotel – a Homewood Suites. I have stayed in a LOT of hotels in the past year and this one is totally amazing! I think it’s like $110 a night but it feels like it should be $300. First off, we have a suite – with a FULL kitchen! Including POTS to make OATMEAL!! I might have to seek some out!

IMG_8332 (640x427)

The bathroom is fancy. The products are Neutrogena.

IMG_8331 (640x427)

The bed linens are duponi (or so it feels) and are so chic

IMG_8330 (640x427)

I have a plug on my nightstand lamp for my iPhone (SO necessary and convenient) and INTERNET IS FREE!!!

Going to lay back onto these down pills and dream of fun things….

I love your one cocktail rule. I must try that. I hear the words “open bar” and suddenly I’m nineteen, uh, I mean twenty two, all over again.

What a delish spread of food.

Homewood Suites is one of our favorite places to stay when we travel. Hotel Seirra is prettty similar and very nice as well. They are geared for corporate travelers but work out great for us!

do you ever ear anything different for breakfast such as an egg white, cheese and turkey bacon/sausage sandwich on a whole wheat eng muffin? corn flakes w banana or waffles? just curious I can’t wrap my brain around the oatmeal thing….that house was beautiful!!

Occasionally when I travel or something, but I don’t really have an appetite for savory foods. I would make waffles but I don’t have a waffle maker!! I do have smoothies and pancakes instead of oats and cereal sometimes in the summer with yogurt.
