Wheeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
What can I say? Foodbuzz knows how to throw a party!
Upon arriving this afternoon I headed straight to the airport via a fancy town car sent by Bertolli Sauce. My driver was so nice!!
I got to the hotel, met friends with hugs, grabbed my bags and headed back out the door with Sabrina, Brittany, and Meghann for a little sightseeing – and hunted for a snack!!
After a little searching, I found the frozen yogurt I was so very much seeking!
HELLO TART YOGURT! But um, when there’s PUMPKIN yogurt on the menu, I gotta get that.
So I settled for 1/4 tart and 3/4 pumpkin topped with some coconut. SO GOOD! And a perfect snack. The tart yogurt was just like frozen greek yogurt and the pumpkin was like Stonyfield’s pumpkin pie!
Honk.
We made our way to the Ferry Building for more sightseeing
And photography
Came back and washed that airplane right outta my hair
Got fancied up and headed to the lobby for a special Bertolli Sauce meeting!!
In case you didn’t hear, I created a menu item – Cowgirl and won Bertolli Sauce sponsorship for this weekend
The bar was total swank.
Followed by total fizz
And a meet-n-greet with the Bertolli Sauce team.
I just had a few sips of the champagne before we headed upstairs for the cocktail party
The welcome reception was so gorgeous and set on the rooftop terrace of the Vitale
I tried a little puff pastry filled with Grueyre and mascarpone by Midi in the Galleria Park Hotel
Jenna and I snuck away to get warm under a heater. Brrr!
At 7PM we moved on to the big event: The Taste of SF Street Food “Fare.” A section of the Ferry Building was transformed into a row of venders serving niche gourmet food of all kinds.
Starting with……
Thirsty Bear Beer! (I miss my bears!!)
I had a wheat beer but put it down after a few sips. I wasn’t in a beer mood.
The first thing to catch my eye was this tower of mini cupcakes by Mission Minis!!!
Pumpkin Spice anyone?
Danica, Jasmine and I went a little crazy sampling flavors, but we shared bites of each so we could taste them all. I think the Cinnamon was my favorite!!
Next up: The Pie Truck!
These little savory pies were too cute. Very rich though! I had two bites and shared with my friends.
The Tacolicious folks looked tempting, but there were too many onions for me to venture in.
Would you believe I’ve never had a raw oyster?
Hog Island Oyster Co. took care of that one!
It tasted like a cooked oyster!!
Alive Vegetarian Cuisine had a bunch of raw // vegan // vegetarian bites, and honestly, I think these were my favorite bites of the night!!!
Raw flatbread pizza crisps with cashew cream, tomato and basil and avocado, olives and more!? I had one of each!
Spencer On The Go had a yummy beet + Point Reyes Blue cheese salad and a Blue & Far West Fungi Vol au Vent – how’s that for a mouthful! I shared both with Tina + Meghann.
A big hit of the night were these giant sandwiches from Roli Roti. Meghann shared a bite of hers
Pizza Pizza!! Pizza Politana had a wood-fired pizza. Yum!
I ate the whole slice of this guy

On the alcoholic beverages front, I had a few sips of 3 drinks and nothin’ more. Tonight was all about the FOOD and I know that alcohol just makes me feel sick, so I stuck to tastes. Tasting was definitely the theme of the night! I really had a bite of this and that and while it all did add up to a nice filling dinner, I don’t feel stuffed. Sweet.
A Blood and Sand made by Skyy and Rye on the Road.
It was good!! Kinda like a Manhattan but sweeter and orangier
DESSERTS!!!
I ate the rest of Meghann’s coffee ice cream from Straus Family Creamy.
Cream. Iced. Delish.
I had to go back to try the vanilla!
And last but not least….
Lavender + Pomegranate Raw Cashew Coconut Cheesecakes from Alive. Really good!!
Being all East Coast and all, a handful of us went back to our room to get in our PJs and BLOG!!! After trying everything at the party, we were ready to call it a night because we have to rejuvenate for tomorrow’s agenda!! It’s so fun to blog with others in the room
GOODNIGHT!

Hi Kath!
I’ve spent the past hour cathcing up on this week’s posts.
It took me a while to figure out the new format, but it looks really nice!
I’m planning on making the pumpkin risotto; it looks great. =]
And the brie & pumpkin butter sandwhich.
Thank you for the recipes & have a great weekend.
There are so many great things about food in this post that I want to ramble endlessly about, but I’m pressed for time at the moment and just need to tell you one thing:
YOUR SAN FRANCISCO AND PARTY PICTURES ARE AMAZING!!! Seriously, Kath, you have a keen eye for photography. Just, gorgeous. Keep it up, girl!
Aww-you are just 60 miles away from me now-I’m in Santa Rosa-but am an SF native. Anyway, I just had to tell you that should the chance present itself-Thirsty Bear makes a Vanilla Beer that is so scrumptious and perfect-you’ll leave your heart in SF. Just had to tell you that! Have fun!
Wow, sounds like you’re having an amazing time! Such delicious eats! That frozen yogurt sounds so good too.
I am so sad I didn’t go to this conference. It looks amazing!
looks incredible. your pics are amazing! i wish i had that kind of an eye with the camera! looking forward to seeing what awaits you on saturday!
Kath – this looks like a well organized and really fun event…
Question: what kind of camera do you use to get such crisp/focused shots?
Your eats and photos look amazing! So jealous of all the mini cupcakes and the pumpkin frozen yogurt. You’re such a seasoned (foodie) traveler, now you just need to come visit NYC! I think this city has the best food
Wow! Everything does look so swanky!! I love how the Golden Gate bridge is lit up
Those eats look a-mazing, can’t wait to read about the rest of the trip! Continue having taste-bud fun
I came back to look at the pictures again because they are so pretty lol.
Wynne,
Check the FAQs!
Megan,
Can’t WAIT to come to NYC sometime! We’re actually coming in January for a wedding! The 16th-17th
amber,
Haha – you’re cute
Kath

so much fun! wish i could be there – i was ALLLLMOST supposed to.
That yogurt sounds awesome
As always, your pics are gorgeous!! Totally agree with your decision on the booze – it is a FOOD festival after all!
Hope today shapes up to be just as fun!
Great photos! I haven’t checked out your blog in a while, but I love the new layout. Looks really nice =]
Hands down, best food blog out there. The photos are incredible and you put so much time and effort into the format, I can definitely tell.
Also, I like that you actually eat food, and all kinds of food, with very few repeats. Mind you, I eat the same thing practically every day, because I lack imagination and time, but I wish I could eat more like you!
Anyways, keep up the great work, I look forward to reading your blog everyday
Megan, I eat the same food a lot too, so the child didn’t get it from me. Her grandmas are both great cooks though! (And I’m not horrible; just lack the food creativity of the others.)
Barbara
Drool!
You were right about swank! How fun! That bar def looked luxurious.. and pumpkin fro yo? Perfect!
You said it–Foodbuzz knows how to throw a party! Love the table settings and the coconut cheesecakes:)
Looks like a fabulous time. That lit-up view is absolutely stunning! But, as I once mentioned to Tina — and actually urge everyone — I’m all for not wasting food and spreading the wealth, but, as a health student, it’s my duty to warn you: everyone really must be careful about all the sharing! It’s so tempting to take a taste, but that saliva-to-saliva contact (yuck) is all that the gross viruses/bacteria (mono, flu, meningitis, cold sores…) need to be on their merry way! :X Really sorry for my joykill-ness, but it’s unfortunately true. Just break off pieces, instead of biting, all. That said, you look like you’re having a fantastic time and the photos are stunning.
It’s so fun to see you on my turf
And eating things that I eat! Strauss Creamery is what we use for Lucy’s yogurt and milk. Their milk comes in glass jugs and is so good!
That frozen yogurt looks SO good! Looks like you are all having a blast!!
Oh gosh! Everything looked delish. I don’t think I’d have your will power to just sample everything- I’d have to full on taste it all!
I can’t wait to hear more about the event.
wow! all that food looks soo good. wicked jealous
jenna
Look so good! I want to try Alive. I wanted Fro Yo in San Fran, but never could figure out where the best one was so chickened out! Pumpkin Fro Yo sounds amazing though.
Hi there,
Just thought I’d let you know that the link for The Pie Truck is thepietruck.wordpress.com . The one you linked to was pietruck.wordpress.com which will get people to the right place eventually, but you might want to fix your link to avoid confusion.
Thanks!

YAY!!! Congrats!
omg! I’ve never seen so much food! How did you fit it all in your little tummy! Too much pressure!
MMM ~ Those little mini cupcakes. I think I could go back just for those ALONE! Oh and the street tacos. Thanks for sharing – it was an awesome way to try them ALL – yeah!
