Beautiful, Beautiful Bread

January 14, 2011

Our day started at 7AM with dough…

KERF UPLOAD25Blog

And ended with beautiful round loaves.

I started with coffee and a banana with PB

We also made Blueberry Coffee Cakes (the first thing to sell out!)

KERF UPLOAD24Blog

Hot taste!

IMG_8153Blog

I also tasted the Dillon Cookies (whole wheat!) for breakfast ; )

KERF UPLOAD26Blog

All ready at 10AM for the community to come in – the line was out the door!

IMG_8179Blog

It was MADNESS but fun and great experience! I had never worked a cash register before, and that was definitely my biggest challenge. Slicing bread and smiling were easy ; ) Looks like Great Harvest is making tons of money for the high school band.

KERF UPLOAD23Blog

We broke for lunch at 12:15 and had a platter from Subway to dig through. We all chose to discard the Subway bread and replace it with GH – such a good change!

IMG_8191Blog

I made a salad from Subway toppings and smothered some Sunflower Wheat with peanut butter. I cannot describe how wonderful this was!!!!!!!!!!!

IMG_8190Blog

I could taste the raw onions that touched my salad components…how offensive!

IMG_8193Blog

Chips and a taste of pound cake

IMG_8192Blog

We are delivering baskets of bread after lunch and have our graduation at 4:30! Then a drink at the local bar….then Matt and I are heading off on a birthday celebration dinner!

such gorgeous pictures! I want to come visit your great harvest! :) which one is the cinnamon swirl loaf? Does it have a fancy name? That one is my favorite!

I think it’s Cinnamon Swirl

The baking bread is just beautiful. The sight and smell of fresh breads are two of the most comforting things in this world. You’ve selected a wonderful, soul-nourishing profession.

Do all GH open at 10? Or is that just the Dillon office?

No, that’s just today’s promotion here in Dillon

Yumm! What brand of yeast does Great Harvest use or does it vary from store to store? Because of a food intolerance I am only supposed to use certain yeast brands and I would be great to find out I can eat Great Harvest bread!

Reply

11 Kath January 14, 2011 at 3:02 pm

I am not sure, but it’s fresh cake yeast. I’d ask your local store exactly what they use

In the second picture down, is that a big chuck of cheddar sticking out of that bread?!
That would be amazing :)

The shots of the bakery are really clear and colorful – hope you can use them for marketing website or store posters and/or brochures for your new shop! Given the response from your readers, they certainly produce the kind of desire you’ll want to elicit from your customers.
