without some KERF 🙂 I’m sporting my “I Eat Real Food.” shirt today.
And used my KERF bowl to match (even though I was alone so no one noticed!)
I haven’t slept well recently – blame the hormones and/or the moonlight. I had to put on my eye mask in the middle of the night and my tossing and turning immediately ceased. I swear by eye masks but I don’t always remember to put it on!
My alarm went off at 5, and while I was slow, I was at the gym by 5:55. I did 30 minutes of Stepmill, 15 on the Squirrelliptical and 10 of light lifting.
Today was a cereal day 🙂 This bowl was almost sickening filling. I think 2.5 cups of cereal > 1/3 cup oatmeal on the grain factorI used a combo of 3 different cereals today (anything to make the bowl more fun to eat!)
I also used 1 cup of this vanilla almond milk, which I bought on a whim at Trader Joe’s. I got it because it’s shelf stable and wasn’t that expensive, but I didn’t care for it that much (compared to my super-cheap Costco vanilla soy milk). It’s also really low in protein – only 1 gram per cup.
1/2 cup each of GoLean, Life, Quaker Oatmeal Squares
~1/3 cup each strawberries + blackberries, heated
1 cup milk, heated
1 tbsp flax
A few walnuts
Drizzle TJ’s PB
I got this coffee sample in the mail! It was pretty good…
With 2% milk –
I am SUPER full right now. Maybe I should cut back on my cereal portion…
Win some SweetRiot dark chocolate covered (50%, 60% or 85% dark cacao) raw cocoa nibs over at Mara’s blog: The Most Amazing…
My internet signal has been going in and out ever since we got the U-verse installed. Someone is coming over to take a look today, but GOSH is it annoying!
I’ve got a long day ahead (but an EarthFare trip for lunch!!!) and my test tonight.
And I’ve got TWO MAJOR ANNOUCEMENTS coming this week!!!! One involves a new blogging project and one involves travel – to a land faraway!!
Well Well Well – I am loving the shirt! Breakfast looks yummy!
1. I LOVE your wall colors!
2. Your legs look SO lean and toned in those pics! is it the yoga? you look awesome!!!!!
3. life cereal is one of my favs, but sadly it takes like 5 bowls of it to fill me up, followed by a major sugar headache. so I am living vicariously through your bowl today haha
I have to wear an eye mask every night or there is no way I can sleep!
Can’t wait to hear where you’re headed! You look cute in your shirt!
How was that coffee? I’m interested in trying that flavour, I wonder if I can buy it online…
Love the KERF swag, you’re looking great these days!
Sarah (Sarah's Eats and Exercises) says
Shirt looks great. I’ll be excited for your announcements. I love to travel 🙂
I had a similar cereal bowl this morning! Two different kinds of cereals, soy milk, banana, blackberries, blueberries, marionberries. Mmm.
Erin D. says
Can I just say how much I always love your post titles? They’re always adorable!
Have a great day 🙂
Love the gear!! 🙂
I like the new signature!
Love some of the new changes to the blog, including the comment box and your signature 🙂
1. Your house is adorable. Will you give us a formal tour sometime? I think we’d all love to see some of the fun details that we scrunch in within millimeters of the computer screen to look at 🙂
2. Agree that those jeans are rockin’ today! What kind are they?
3. When you buy soy or almond milk, do you go for the reduced sugar kind or regular? I see that the box on this one says reduced, but I find that the reduced sugar kinds aren’t as delicious (duh).
Have a good one! 🙂
I agree with everyone else, your house is beautiful! I love the wall colors.
Cute shirt, too!
Kaneil, Balance is Best says
Oatmeal Squares are awe-some! I also LOVE your wall colors! I think it’s great when people choose bold colors for their home – especially a cute young couple! 🙂
Sorry about your internet issues, that can get very frustrating! You look adorable all KERF’d out today!
Great shirt! I also love that I have the exact same wall colors in my house 🙂
Heather McD (Heather Eats Almond Butter) says

More travelling? How great?! It’s amazing to see how you’ve cultivated this blog into a business. It inspires me to keep up the work with my blog, so as to develop it into a business-like venture such as yours. This niche of food/health blogging makes everything so much easier because we all have one thing in common: we care about our health – both mental and physical. Keep up the good work!
seelee live (for the love of peanut butter) says
i am confused, above your wrote 2.5 cups of cereal but based on ur measurements it looks like u only ate 1.5 cups?

that cereal looks scrumptious! and love the modeling pics !! 🙂 can’t wait to hear the announcements!
LIFE! How nostalgic. I’ve never tried the oatmeal squares but I might have to soon.
Your probably so full from the fiber of all the whole grains! I know after I eat cereal I feel full but within an hour or two I’m starving.
I wear a night mask after working night shift so I can sleep during the day. Cute top!
Allison K says
Seattles Best is awesome, Starbucks uses it to sell flavored coffee’s since Starbucks doesn’t sell them under the Sbux name.
I agree with everyone, you look fantastic, great jeans.
Can’t wait to see where you are travelling!
love the matching t and bowl!
can’t wait to hear the announcements

your cereal looks ALMOST as pretty as your oatmeal usually does …
I gotta say I love the wall colors too! If you and Matt painted them yourselves, you did a mighty fine job.
Are you guys going to England?!
Love the cereal mix!

Mara @ What's For Dinner? says
Love the gear, love the signature, and thanks for the shout out!!! You rock!

Wow! That is a big bowl of cereal!
I was excited to see Seattle’s Best! I’m a Seattlelite! All we drink is Seattle’s Best and it’s super cheap at Costco! 🙂
Also, I’m not a huge fan of that Pacific Almond Milk either… I usually get Almond Dream, Original Unsweetened. Yum! And only 30 cal p/cup!
Kailey (SnackFace) says
That song will be stuck in my head all day!! I love it though- so thanks! 🙂 Kath, you look beautiful in those pics! You’re in such incredible shape! Can’t wait to hear/read the announcements!! (hello exclamation marks)

I beat you–4 kinds of cereal today.
All KERF, all the time! I love it! I love the phrasing on that shirt.
Your house looks so beautifully decorated! I’ve been reading your blog for a while now – but never actually said that in a comment (though I’ve been thinking it)..
i love the shirt! i think i must get one! i’m so excited for the announcements! are your travels bringing you to canada??? haha.

Christin S says
Hey Kath, love the new comments colors! hehe, matches your gear perfectly!
Can I just say that just reading your blog alone helps keep me on track with eating healthy? You rock! Don’t ever stop! 🙂
Sarah (lovINmytummy) says
You are never alone…we all noticed the shirt & bowl. Kinda scary, huh?
For some reason, I LOVE when you trade oatmeal for cereal! Maybe because I’m such a cereal fiend myself…
There’s nothing like fruit, nuts, and nut butter to spruce up a bowl of cold cereal! I am also a cereal-mixer 🙂
oooooooohhhhhhh go to Prague =)
Hey Kath, did you mean to say 1.5 cups of cereal > 1/3 cup oats? Just wondering- thanks!
Your KERF shirts are so cute!
Beadie @ What I Ate Yesterday says
Your KERF gear looks so cute!
Have I ever told you that your dining room is the same color as my master bedroom? My dining room is red 🙂
Your KERF shirts are so cute! And so are your jeans! Where did you get them? 🙂
I hope you are traveling back to Chicago so we can hang out and I’ll take you to Whole Foods again 🙂
I have just got to say that I LOVE this blog!!!! I have finally found two blogs (yours and carrots n cake) that I can totally relate to. You keep me in check with my decisions to be healthy but I like that you are “real.” I am also a big fan of intuitive eating and have learned a lot more about it as you are practicing it. It has made me pick up the book for the third time!
Keep up the good work!!!!!
Thanks for all of your enthusiastic and nice comments today guys! We’re not going to London (wish we were!!!) I’m going on this trip solo and it’s in a very faraway land!
Thanks!! Must be the yoga!?
1) A house tour would be fun! I’ll put it on the list 🙂
2) They are Banana Republic, 2 years ago?
3) I didn’t even noticed the low-sugar thing, but no, I normally just get regular vanilla soy milk at Costco.
Heather McD + L,
Jeans are Banana Republic – they’re OLD!
I’ve found that French press coffee’s froth isn’t conducive to the chandelier coffee 🙁
seelee live + Pearl ,
YES – sorry – it should have been 1.5 cups! 1/2 cup of each.
Jenn (eating bender),
I copied the signature from you!! It is cute.
I am coming back to Chicago – for BlogHer in July! Hope we can do lunch at WF 🙂
What brand are those jeans? They look really great! I can’t wait to hear about the travels!!!!
Yum Yum Yum, cereal is my favorite =)
I had almost the same cereal combo today! Should’ve added some nut butter, though!
Diana (Soap & Chocolate) says
Great idea with the cereal combo! I’ve always wanted to try “cold” cereal with hot milk – it sounds like a fun change. Also might make the dry cereal texture different. Rock out!
thats the same almond milk I drink, love the shirt gots to get one! I mix all my cereals on my monday night ritual bowl!
Allison K says
oooh faraway land like….China?
I love the colors you’ve painted the walls in your home, and obviously so do you since not only are they on your walls but on your oatmeal bowl as well! cute color combos!
That cereal bowl looks super filling!
You are SO beautiful (not celebrity-modal like… REAL!), must be from all the work outs/healthy foods! 😉
I haven’t had Life cereal in ages! I love that stuff, especially the multigrain one 😀
Becca A says
Can’t wait for the announcements!
I’m guessing Asia.
I totally second the idea for a house tour!!!! Ohhhh I’m excited, I love how you decorate!
