Younger Hunger

Afternoon shenanigans:

1) SNACK

Hunger!!! I added a small glass of milk for protein. And wanted an apple! Plus almonds.

IMG_0182 (640x427)

2) SHOPPING!!

Nearly two years after my first life-changing purchase of Bare Minerals (at BlogHer ’08!), I HAD to restock!! I ended up getting the starter kit all over again so I could rope in some new brushes and all the basics. I can’t believe how much I was missing out on the glow being so low in stock!

photo (1)

We also got our wedding rings cleaned!!

IMG_0193 (640x427)

And I broke in my Danskos!! LOVED them walking all around the mall!!! As I said to Matt, any shoe that I can walk 2 hours in without complaints or blisters is a winner. So far, so good!

[If you missed it last week, Clogscentral.com is still giving a 15% off coupon throughout April. Coupon code = kerf.]

Dansko

3) SNACK #2

I came home from the mall starving with stomach pains!!! Weird because my stomach wasn’t growling, but I interpreted the pains as hunger and ate dinner #1 around 5:30.

IMG_0187 (640x427)

The last of our arugula with some of the chopped veggies dressed in oil and honey with a scoop of cottage cheese and a slice of pumpkin bread!

IMG_0188 (640x427)

This White Chocolate Pumpkin Bread arrived in the mail from the sweet Teens Eat!!

IMG_0184 (640x427)

Matt and I made a significant dent!!! It’s fudgy and oh-so-good!!!!!!! Those twins know their pumpkin because this was amazing 🙂 I don’t know if they have a recipe, so go to their blog to ask them more about it!

IMG_0191 (640x427)

My dinner/snack took away my stomach pains, but not by too much. I was ready for another dinner by 7:30!

4) ICE

To ice a foot:

  1. Find a husband giant sock
  2. Stuff with ice

Brilliant!

IMG_0192 (640x427)

#5) DINNER WITH FRIENDS!

IMG_0195 (427x640)

Justin + Amanda are MOVING to Vegas in just 3 short weeks 🙁  We will miss them terribly.

IMG_0198 (640x427)

IMG_0197 (640x427)

IMG_0199 (427x640)

Dinner was scheduled for Savor, a quirky restaurant no where near any of our houses that somehow still managed to draw us back for a second visit 😉

IMG_0202 (640x427) IMG_0205 (640x427)

Especiales [I got the crabcake!]

IMG_0207 (640x427)

Love their simple clipboard menus!

IMG_0208 (640x427) IMG_0209 (640x427)

Justin + Amanda

IMG_0206 (640x427)

Emily + Casey

IMG_0214 (640x427)

[Look what Emily got for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]

IMG_0211 (640x427)

K+K

IMG_0216 (640x427)

We split a bottle of pinot for the table – from Sonoma! Only the best! I sipped a glass throughout the evening. Yum!

IMG_0213 (427x640)

We ordered a round of appetizers for the table – pimento cheese dip with kettle chips and hummus + pita.

IMG_0218 (427x640)

Wish the pimento cheese had been chunkier, but the chips sure were good and crunchy! I ate my fair share

IMG_0221 (640x427)

The pitas were like pillows! Had two 🙂

IMG_0223 (640x427)

For dinner I ordered the crab cake with a side of root veggie has and the drunken collards –

IMG_0238 (640x427)

The crab cake was just OK – I ate half. Plus all of my veggies. Also didn’t realize the collards would have pork them, which I didn’t really care for (or perhaps it was the broth?)

IMG_0241 (640x427)

Matt got a green curry seared tuna. He had some issues with his tuna’s doneness, but the noodles and veggies in the green curry sauce were AMAZING. I snagged a few bites. I heart green curry!

IMG_0237 (640x427)

Happy Birthday Bob!!! The table near us commented on my photography and I struck up a conversation. Bob is turning 62 years young today!! I said that was like 26 backwards 🙂 And he also came up with the title of this post!

IMG_0244 (640x427)

We debated dessert but decided to pass. My stomach pains are now gone! Whew! Hopefully my body’s hunger has caught up.

So very tired. Been up since 4:45am! Can’t wait to sleep in tomorrow, but then we have to CLEAN because we have an open house at 2!

Nite!

I love Bare Minerals – a recent discovery for me, but I’m never going back. It smoothes out my skin without looking over-made up. Plus I don’t feel like I’m putting lots of gunk on my face.
Looks like a fun evening even if the food wasn’t 100%.

Congratulations on your race and time earlier! You totally deserved two dinners! I know how ravenous I am later in the day after my body has rested a bit after a long run or race!

Glad you’re loving the Danskos. I might be making the switch sometime in the future for nursing. Glad to know they got good reviews from you. Sleep well… you deserve it.

Oh, and I also don’t know how you could’ve gone 2 years with 1 BE starter kit – I go through so much of my GLOing make-up; isn’t it the greatest? Get some zzz’s, girl : )

yeahhhh!!! dinner looked fabulous. matt’s tuna made my mouth water especially! although it looks like your pinot was oregon-ian rather than sonoma — still looks amazing, though!

all i have to say is: when is the next race!?!?

oh and i love my bare minerals too that you got me into . . . sometimes i think it may make me break out a little, but then again i feel like EVERYTHING does that to my skin. it’s unfortunate.

I am terribly conerned: the gifting of a spoon that looks like it is made for babies. . . .is this some subtle way to sneak in disordered eating? Are you downsizing your spoons and plates to eat less? Does anyone else notice this obvious weirdness in your post?

    • Kath says

      It’s a condiment spoon.

And I hardly think enjoying a big bowl of oatmeal with a tiny spoon indicates an eating disorder. Of course i’m not planning to eat less.

I think you need to read a bit more of my blog before making such assumptions…

I love BE so much, I have a collection! If you don’t have a Bare Escentuals store, you can get it at Sephora, Ulta and I’m pretty sure department stores carry it, too. Online you can get it at bareescentuals.com (I think there’s a store locater here, too) and qvc.com. But if you can get to a store, go and get the make-under.
