The open house was a big success!! And how cute is this card Krissy made for us!!!!

IMG_0625Blog

We spent the afternoon snacking on oranges + cinnamon chip

IMG_0591Blog

IMG_0590Blog

And put the finishing touches on everything. Thanks SO much to the Great Harvest crew, Paul, Janet, Lauren and Mike, for all of their help!! We really could not have done this without them!

IMG_0594Blog

Also, our crew is totally awesome. They’ve gotten right into the groove and are doing so awesome!

We had a little of everything ready for sampling –

IMG_0624Blog

Thanks a MILLION to Jefferson Vineyards for adding such a nice touch to the evening.

IMG_0611Blog

I sipped on one of each of their most delicious – Pinot Gris, Viognier, Cab Franc and the delicious Meritage

IMG_0619Blog

And MOM and DAD arrived just in time!! Dad’s favorite item was the Curried Tuna Sandwich and Mom can’t decided between the Lemony Hummus Sandwich, the Savannah Bars, Garlic Cheddar and the Scuffins!

Happy Bakery and Happy Anniversary!! Poor Matt and me – we didn’t have time to exchange cards this year, but we got to share an amazing day

Beautiful Karen was not left out; she is a key cog in the wheel of the business. She did lots in getting the bakery to this point. It was recently posted she had even washed 100 bread pans. Also, I believe she is in charge of the accounting for the bakery. Names were actually not identified for the photograph; just above it was a mention that mom and dad arrived just in time, and below it was a mention Kath and Matt did not get around to exchanging Anniversary cards this year. I guess since Karen is such a key part of the Bakery, Kath probably felt introductions were not necessary; however, if someone is new to following the blog, they might not be in-the-know. You are right though, Karen is amazing, adorable and an inspiration! 🙂

Guess I had a little extra time recently. Alana (BTW…such a beautiful name), sorry to freak you out. I guess if everybody in this world were the same, life wouldn’t be interesting. It really is not my intention to upset anyone. Sorry :/ and enjoy Kath’s experiences!

My parents moved to a new town and started their own business from the ground up when they were around your age, before they had kids etc. It thrived for 30 years before they finally sold it and retired very happily. Although I wasn’t there when it all began, I absorbed over time from observation just how very, very, very hard they worked being small business owners. No one understands how much effort/time/responsibility goes into owning your own business. Best wishes to you both!

Love you grandma’s pictures. And your family. My prayers are with Karen.

The little card is hard to read. What is this creation and how can I make it or get it?
