Yarrrrrd

(Said in the voice of a pirate)

Today was all about cleaning up the yard! We finished 95% of the back yard and have just the front to organize.

We walked to the grocery store and back at 10 and picked up 2 reusable bags’ worth of produce, plus yogurt and milk.

Once home, the shovels came out…

IMG_0005 (640x427)

We worked for 3 straight hours. Here are some before and afters for you to enjoy!

Dead flowers…

IMG_9999 (640x427)

Just rosemary…

IMG_0006 (640x427)

IMG_0001 (640x427)

this !

IMG_0007 (640x427)

IMG_0002 (640x427)

IMG_0008 (640x427)

Out-of-control mint (and out-of-control hose!)

IMG_0003 (640x427)

IMG_0009 (640x427)

Matt also FINALLY repaired the shed door. I encourage all of you who are not selling your houses to just pretend that you are and fix it up for yourself!!

IMG_0010 (640x427)

After the yard, we moved on to the garage, which was WORSE! It’s where we put things that we don’t know what to do with 🙂 But now it has been sorted and I have a trunk full of stuff for my mom and Goodwill.

My oatmeal pancake held me over allllllllll morning. Seriously – no signs of hunger from about 8AM – 2PM. And even when I came down from a shower at 3PM I wasn’t that hungry. So strange.

I had just what I’ve been craving since Thanksgiving – yogurt and cranberry sauce.

IMG_0018 (640x427)

~1/2 a cup of Oikos with ~1/4 heaping cup cranberry sauce and the Best Damn Granola (which I am almost out of and will definitely miss!)

IMG_0021 (640x427)

On the side I had a pile of carrots + celery with a heaping TBSP of Costco PB and 3 clems!

IMG_0015 (640x427)

IMG_0014 (640x427)

I’ve got to do some laundry and sort through my wedding box so I only keep the very important stuff. Then I am settling down with THIS! I’m halfway through and need to pick up my pace.

What are you thinking of the book so far? Maguire is my favorite author currently, I LOVED Wicked! The sequel is good too, in my opinion.

Honestly, it’s kind of slow. I need a good plot to keep me reading! But that said, I am enjoying it. The characters are very interesting. Hopefully my opinion will change as we go through.

I’m the same way with books! I need it to seriously keep me going the entire time. If I get even the tiny bit bored, I close the book and most likely never go back. I should be a little easier on the books I read 😉

I did that with our apartment on time. We spruced it up and it was beautiful. We need to do that again 🙂

Hi Kath, loved your post today 🙂 You look goood in those puma pants!!

Anyway, I was just wondering if you’ve ever heard of this: Soy makes you fat.

My friend just told me a new study came out about that and I wasnt sure to take her word or not. What is your opinion on it?

As far as I only, the only thing that makes you fat is a positive energy balance!? If you could send me the study, I could give a better opinion!

Cleaning up the yard and garage is definitely a huge project to undertake! But it will REALLY help move along the sale of any house. 🙂

Love your simple lunch. Honeslty, the simplest lunches can be SO appealing!

I agree! Better to fix things up and enjoy them instead of just when you are selling your house. I made that mistake once but I don’t plan on doing it again!

Super nice job on the garden- don’t you find it very rewarding? I have this bizarre love for pruning, though I never do it. It’s just so fun to cut branches just above where you know a bud will grow in a particular direction. Like creating the growth patterns!

And I just love ripping out old plants, weeds. My back doesn’t love it though!
