Up On The Housetop

Kit-ty paws!

IMG_5288BlogIMG_5292BlogIMG_5291Blog

I think we have a prowler!

IMG_5282Blog

I used to pride myself for being on time, but I am running SO late, as usual! It’s this blogging thing. And that exercise thing.

I set my alarm for 6:26 this morning.

After 20 minutes of snoozing. 20 minutes of emailing. And 20 minutes debating if sore abs were a good reason not to run, I finally got out of bed.

I do not like rising before the sun! And then there’s that little problem called freezing weather.

But Matt and I finally decided to just do a quick 3-4 miles. We used ye ole motivator: “I’ll just do 20 minutes” and ended up having a pretty great run! Lots of hills, lots of snow dodging.

And now I’m enjoying some overnight oats!

IMG_5327Blog

Overnight oats in a jar are the BEST!!

IMG_5331Blog

The Mix

  • Near-empty jar of sunflower butter
  • 1/3 cup oats
  • 1/3 cup Oikos plain
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • Pinch salt
  • Half banana
  • Sprinkle cinnamon
  • Rosie’s Best granola in the AM

IMG_5320Blog

Gotta get my joe!

IMG_5318Blog

ONE NIGHT. I packed as lightly as I could!! My LiveWell Core bag is stuffed and my carry-into-the-car bag is full of laptop, camera, snacks, lunch, purse, coats, gloves. I’m worse than a new mom!

IMG_5333Blog

Can’t wait to see my grandmother!! Wish me luck on the 3-hour solo journey…I’m nervous.

I am just as bad packing for one night — ESPECIALLY if I am taking my car. Taking my car seems to give me permission to pack more than I can carry. After all, I can just throw it in the back seat!

I am loving all the new mugs!

Awww! We always have paw prints in our snow. It’s adorable. What’s even cuter is seeing our calico cat when there’s a solid amount of snow on the ground…only her black and orange patches stick out! Safe travels to your grandmother’s!

Have fun with your grandmother! Rock out to some fun music like Aubrey said above and the drive will be over before you know it.

I 100% understand why so many “real runners” hate treadmills, but I gotta say, if I didn’t have access to one, winter exercise for me would consist of rolling out the dough for Christmas cookies 🙂 Maybe I should invest in one of those scary ski-masks robbers always use in the movies?!? Nah, the treadmill is fine for now…

    Good luck on your trip!

Packing more than a new mom? That’s impossible 🙂
Running late? Couldnt be worse than a new mom’s lateness 🙂

I wouldnt consider myself a “new” mom, mine is almost 4 yrs old, but I still overpack and I run later now than ever….whoops!

Good for you for getting out for your run even when you weren’t in the mood! That’s funny that your “trick” is to say you’ll ONLY do 20 minutes… That’s a full workout where I come from. 🙂 My trick is to say to myself, I’m too tired to remember any of this anyway, so I might as well run!

    Here Kitty Kitty Kitty!

You need a pair of Valslides for when it’s too cold to go outside. You could do your whole workout in your living room. Strength and cardio. It’s fun too! Plus, they fit in your Core Bag!

    Safe travels!
