‘Twas The Night Before

I heart holidays!!

So does my little turkey.

Foodblog-9526

{Gobble onesie by KERF reader Jacks & Roxanne!}

We were up early this morning (per usual) but this time we went out exercising with our friend Kipton before breakfast. I had half a banana and some sunflower butter before we hit the road for a great stroller power walk. I’m loving having a morning exercise buddy – I forgot how great it is to get moving before the day begins.

Maze turned from a turkey into a lobster with his new mittens from Grammie Buzz!

Foodblog-9523Foodblog-9518

2.75 miles later, we ate some quick cereal before heading out –

Foodblog-9530

Whole Foods brand wheat waffles + honey bunches with chia seeds, the other half of my banana and milk.

Foodblog-9532Foodblog-9533Foodblog-9535

Shortly after breakfast, Uncle Andrew arrived from New Orleans!!!

Foodblog-9537

M had a great time playing with him. Andrew and I walked down to the bakery together to see what was going on.

Rollin’ with the punches.

Foodblog--35

SO many dinner rolls – and pies!

Foodblog-9551

Hi Daddy!

Foodblog-9546

I had a tofu + pimento cheese sandwich on popeye bread for lunch

Foodblog-9544

Plus some savannah bar crumbles for dessert

Foodblog-9550Foodblog-9553

M and I got back to walking later in the afternoon (after a bakery office feeding) and headed over to Karen’s house

Foodblog-9555

We did more nursing and some snoozing. Cuteness!

Foodblog-9559

Until Uncle Punkle and daddy came home from the bakery for dinner.

Foodblog-9571

Cocktail hour featured two beers Karen brought home from Maine this summer

Foodblog-9560

Foodblog-9564

Plus two kinds of fun cheese – a cheddar from Quebec and a gruyère

Foodblog-9565

Foodblog-9581

Foodblog-9585

For dinner we had crockpot beef short ribs over rice

Foodblog-9578

Plus kale, feta cheese + bacon

Foodblog-9577

And ROLLS!

Foodblog-9587

Baby getting ready for a little dinnertime nap

Foodblog-9572

For dessert, we did a swap this weekend with the incredible Paradox Pastry – bread for sweets!

Foodblog-9591

Pear Tart, Brownie Tort and Autumn Spice Cake!

Foodblog--36

We are stuffed to the brim and the turkeys haven’t even been stuffed yet!! Matt called this “Holiday Fullness.” The best kind of fullness there is.

Happy Thanksgiving!

    Happy thanksgiving!!

M outfit is sooo cute!! Well, he’s cute in whatever outfit.

You take him out a lot, I wonder if he takes regular naps that way too or do you notice he naps better when he’s at home?

Good for you. My kids always slept well on the go! It always drives me crazy when women plan their day around nap time.

Happy Thanksgiving! We already celebrated Thanksgiving in Canada back in October. However, we benefit from your Black Friday…alot of our stores are having Black Friday sales starting today and continuing through the weekend. My mom is visiting this weekend so perhaps we will get some holiday shopping accomplished…in between my nephew’s hockey tournament! 🙂 Spice Cake looks amazing…what did it taste like? What was the icing? Cream Cheese? 🙂

Hi Susan, my brother lives in Montreal and I just had a lovely visit there. I second the question about the autumn spice cake — what were the spices? Did the cake include pumpkin?

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! Mazen definitely looks ready in his turkey outfit. Too cute!

I love the cuteness picture. So sweet!

I’m going to guess that Andrew is Matt’s brother. Wow!!! They could be twins. Is he younger or older?

    Enjoy your holiday!

As always you have some great photos in this post. My faves are the first one (M in his gobble shirt), the uncle/nephew shot, and the one of your husband multi-tasking (pouring wine while holding a baby). Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

So cute! Are you hoping Mazen might one day take over the family business? 🙂 (I was just wondering, as a franchise, do you have job security separate from the company? Like if anything happened to Great Harvest, can you continue to operate your own bakery as normal?)
