Turn It In!

I implemented my “finish a project before the day starts” agenda today by working on my Management Continuum in bed first thing. I worked on it for 2 hours last night in the guest room (= coziest room in the house and new location) and then finished it in another 1.5 hours this morning. Feels gooooood!

After 4 hours hunch over an Excel spreadsheet, I NEEDED yoga. Yoga is the perfect example of an exercise I do because I like the way it makes me feel (verses any kind of obligation). Also in the feel category: running, walking, hiking, swimming and the stepmill (for the sweat!) Other exercises may not feel good during, but they you almost always feel good after.

I did a new YogaDownload today: Dave Farmer’s Sun Salutations. LOVED it. Well, actually, at first I didn’t like his style. Too much talking and explaining! But I realized that while he was talking we were holding the poses for a long time, which tired me out more than usual. Then we did a super fast flow right in the middle, which I loved because I really felt the burn. it was one of the most challenging classes I’ve done because of the duration and pace of the poses. I’m going to try his 60 minute class soon. I know he’s also got a bunch of free podcasts, but when I checked them out they were really just him teaching an in-person class and it was hard to hear. I like for the instructor to be talking to ME!

I couldn’t wait to have this bowl when I finished! Nut butter and all 😉

The Mix:

  • 1/3 cup oats, vanilla soy milk, water, pinch salt, half banana
  • 1 dried fig
  • 2 tbsp wheatberries
  • Splash banana
  • ~1/3 cup chopped mango (stirred in at end)
  • 2 tbsp coconut
  • 1 tbsp flax
  • Chopped almonds
  • Spoonful MaraNatha AB
  • Sprinkle coconut butter

It was a heaping tropical delicious bowl!

I feel stressed to the max with these few things, but you have a husband, house to clean, and mortgage to pay. Does it ever get too stress for you where you want to just throw in the towel and go back to your old job???

I agree – at first, I didn’t like Dave Farmer. He was really loud, talked too much, and the sound quality of the podcasts are really off. The wind was really loud because it was recorded outside!

Do you know of ones that are in an inside setting? I like his flow and poses, but I need a better resource for classes.

    Sarah ,
It’s like coconut flavored candle wax shavings. Great taste, but not worth buying, IMO.

    Mara @ What’s For Dinner,
Power Yoga #3 for beginners. Or Gentle Hatha I or II for relaxation.

    Lindsay ,
I never want to go back to my old job!

I am stressed constantly, but I stay on top of it by being super organized (todoist.com) and by not procrastinating.

    Michelle Hisae,
His YogaDownload ones are indoors and professional.

    JB ,
Haven’t had time to read it!

    Scoop ,
They are audio yoga sessions, so you look at a pose guide and then just listen. Try one of the free 20 minute ones out. Just create an account and download it to your computer or iPod.

    Kristy Laverne,
    Thanks!
